The moon hung high in the sky, casting a soft, silver light over the Salvatore School. Inside, the usual buzz of activity had quieted as the students retreated to their rooms for the night. In a secluded corner of the school, Josie Saltzman stood at her window, staring out at the starry sky, her heart pounding with a mixture of anticipation and nerves.

Tonight was the night.

She and Hope Mikaelson had been together for a while now, their relationship growing deeper and more meaningful with each passing day. But tonight felt different. It was the night they had both decided to take the next step in their relationship, a step that was as thrilling as it was daunting.

A soft knock at her door startled Josie from her thoughts. Her breath caught in her throat as she turned, knowing exactly who it was. She crossed the room and opened the door to find Hope standing there, a nervous but warm smile playing on her lips.

"Hey," Hope greeted, her voice soft, almost shy.

"Hey," Josie replied, her heart fluttering as she stepped aside to let Hope in.

The room felt smaller, more intimate, with Hope in it. The air between them was charged with unspoken words and unexpressed feelings, both of them aware of the significance of this night.

They had talked about it—about taking this step. They had shared their fears, their hopes, their love for one another. But now that the moment was here, all the conversations in the world couldn't prepare them for the whirlwind of emotions they were both feeling.

Hope looked around the room, noting the soft candlelight that Josie had set up, the way the bed was neatly made, with extra pillows and a cozy blanket. It was such a Josie thing to do, to make sure everything was perfect.

Josie, on the other hand, couldn't take her eyes off Hope. She was stunning, as always, but tonight there was something different—a vulnerability in her eyes, a tenderness that made Josie's heart ache with love.

"Are you nervous?" Hope asked, breaking the silence. There was a slight tremor in her voice that betrayed her own nerves.

Josie nodded, biting her lip. "Yeah. But... in a good way, I think."

Hope took a step closer, reaching out to take Josie's hand in hers. The touch was familiar, comforting, and it helped to ground them both in the moment. "Me too," she admitted, her thumb brushing over Josie's knuckles. "But we don't have to rush anything. We can take our time."

Josie smiled, a wave of affection washing over her. Hope always knew exactly what to say to make her feel safe, loved. "I know. And I'm really glad it's with you. I wouldn't want it to be anyone else."

Hope's eyes softened, and she gently tugged Josie closer, wrapping her arms around her in a warm embrace. "I love you, Josie," she whispered, her voice thick with emotion. "I love you so much."

"I love you too," Josie whispered back, resting her head against Hope's chest, listening to the steady beat of her heart. It was moments like these that reminded her why she had fallen in love with Hope in the first place—why she had always been in love with her.

They stood there for a while, just holding each other, letting the closeness chase away their nerves. It was a quiet, gentle moment, one that spoke of trust and understanding, of the deep bond they shared.

Finally, Hope pulled back slightly, her hand coming up to gently cup Josie's cheek. She leaned in, pressing a soft, lingering kiss to Josie's lips. It was a kiss full of love and reassurance, a promise of what was to come.

"Let's just... be with each other tonight," Hope said softly, her forehead resting against Josie's. "No pressure, no expectations. Just us."

Josie nodded, her heart swelling with love. "Just us," she agreed.
