A Sacrifice For Your Humanity Part 3

Previously:
Josie's POV
"I think I got through to her. I have to work harder. It won't take long now."

I picked up my phone and texted Lizzie.
"I almost got her to turn it back on. She showed a touch of humanity. But I still need to work harder."
"That's great Jo. How did you do that?"
"I told her that she wasn't a monster for what she did and that I loved her. I told her what was in the letter I wrote for her back then.
Then she pushed me against the wall and begged me to give up and disappeared into her room. She was on the verge of collapsing."
"Oh my god, that's it Jo. You're the key to her humanity. You have to show her that she doesn't want to live like that anymore. Find her weak spot."

After I read Lizzie's last message it hit me.
She is afraid of being abandoned again.
I text her back quickly.
"You just gave me an idea. Now I know exactly how to bring her back."
"Please don't do something stupid sis, look after yourself."
"I will, don't worry about me. Love you."
"Love you too. Be safe."
After Lizzie's message I went to Hope's room and knocked on the door.
Nothing.
"Hope I know you're in there... Don't worry, I won't try again tonight, I promise. I'm gonna go to sleep now, so goodnight."
I walk away and go straight to my room.

Hope's POV

After Josie's love confession I couldn't control myself anymore, I was so close to breaking down in tears.
I went back to my room and closed the door and walked back and forth in the room.
It's getting harder to resist her.
"Okay calm down, you've got this. Nothing she just said means anything to you. She means nothing to you. You don't care about her... not anymore."

I stopped pacing when I heard a knock on the door.
"Please go away...please." I said to myself.
"Hope I know your in there... Don't worry, I won't try again tonight, I promise. I'm gonna go to sleep now, so goodnight." Josie said behind the door. I heard her walk away towards her room.

I went to the door and stood in front of it. My hand reached for the door handle, but I hesitated to open the door.
"No don't do it." I said to myself.
"Open the door and go to her." I turn back around and found my humanity itself sitting on my bed. She got up and put her hand on the doorknob. "Go to her."
I don't know why I listened to her but I opened the door and walked towards Josie's room.
As I stood outside her room I gently knocked on her door. My heart was beating wildly when she opened the door.
She stood in front of me in her cute looking pajamas and her hair down that I wanted to run my fingers through.
She looks at me a little confused but also worried.
"Hope? Is something wrong?"
My heart beat even faster the longer she looked at me.
"She looks beautiful just like always." my humanity self said while standing next to me.
I wanted to agree but ignored her and tried not to show any emotion.
"I-I just wanted to say goodnight to you."
"Oh. Well goodnight Hope." she responded with a smile on her face.
I quickly walked back to my room as she closed the door.
Back in my room I collapsed on my bed and put my head under a pillow.
"What is happening to me. Why can't I control myself anymore....I—I need blood."
I got up from the bed and saw a blood bag on the table next to it with a note.
"I hope it could help, Josie <3"
I looked at the blood bag.
"How did she know that?"
I took the blood bag and drank from it.
Sighing, I put the empty blood bag away and went back to bed. Josie prepared a pajama for me. I changed and went back to bed.
I closed my eyes and only had one thought...Josie before I fell asleep.

Josie's POV

After I said good night to Hope I went to my own room. I closed the door and leaned against it.
"It will work tomorrow, I'm sure of it. There's not much left to do."
I walked to the bed and changed into my pajama.
After I changed I heard a knock on my door. I was confused but opened it.
I saw Hope standing in front of me, but something was different.
She looked kind of overwhelmed, so I asked her. "Hope? Is something wrong?"
She looks deeply into my eyes before she responds with a stutter. "I-I just wanted to say goodnight to you."
I smiled at her. "Oh. Well goodnight Hope."
And then I closed the door.
"Oh my gosh, I think she starts to feel something again." I said to myself proudly.
With that thought I went to bed and fell asleep.
