Hosie~ One Shots

The Jump

In the woods, Josie sprints through the trees, following the needle of the compass.
"Something is happening." she says towards the rest of the group as he starts walking again.
"Josie? Can you slow down? Josie?" Lizzie shouts.
"I think we're getting close."
Lizzie grabs Josie's arm, preventing her from falling into the water."Watch your step, big Sis."
They come to the edge of the lake.
Hope walks up with the rest of the group, standing right next to Josie.
"Oh man. You gotta be kidding me."
"I thought these woods were familiar." Penelope responds with an irritated expression on her face.
"Lover's Lake." MG replies as he steps closer.
"There is a gate in Lover's Lake?" Kaleb asks.
"Whenever the monsters attacked, it always left an opening. Maybe Malivore's the same way." Josie answers him.
Hope gives her a knowing look. "Yeah, only one way to find out."
Penelope uncovers a boat and put it in the water.
Lizzie steps into the boat first, with Josie following her with Hope's help. Penelope steps inside as well.
She stopped MG and Kaleb from stepping inside.
"Hey, hey, hey, you trying to sink us? This thing holds three people tops, okay?"
Josie gives them both an apologetic look.
"It's better this way, okay? You guys stay here with Cleo. Keep an eye out for trouble."
MG tries to argue, bit gets interrupted by Hope.
"You heard Josie."
MG gives up. "All right then. Be careful you guys."
Hope pushes the boat into the water and climbs in.
"Hey, you said three." Kaleb argues.
Hope whispers a soft "Sorry".

The four girls are now in the middle of the lake at midnight.
Josie looks at the compass. "Whoa, whoa, whoa, slow down, slow down guys."
Penelope and Lizze bring the boat to a stop.
The compass spins around.

Onshore Kaleb watches them though binoculars.
"They're stopping. What are they stopping for?"
MG takes out his walkie talkie.
"Guys what's going on?"
Lizzie answers him through her walkie talkie.
"Uh, MG, the compass has gone from wonky to wonky with a capital "aah!""
Hope takes off her shoes and socks.
Josie looks at her confused.
"Hope, what are you doing?"
"Somebody's gotta go down there and check this out. Unless one of you three can top being a Mystic Falls High swim co- captain and a certified lifeguard for three years, then... it's gotta be me. No complaints, all right?"
Penelope puts her hands up in surrender." Hey, I'm not complaining. I do not wanna go down there." She fishes a plastic bag from her jacket and puts a flashlight inside.
Meanwhile Hope takes off her shirt, leaving her in her sports bra.
Lizzie catches Josie staring at her and smiles to herself.
Penelope hands Hope the flashlight. "Good luck."
"Thanks."
Before Hope jumps into the water, Josie speaks up. "Hope? Be careful." She gives her a small smile. Hope nods before she dives into the water.

Underwater, Hope reaches the lake floor.
Hope looks to her side, seeing a red light glowing in the distance.
She swims towards it.

"Where we at, Sis?"Lizzie asks.
"Closing in on a minute."
"Okay."
"Come on, Hope. Come on." MG whispers as he looks through the binoculars.
The three of them hear the police coming closer towards the lake. They try to hide.

Underwater, Hope slowly reaches out and touches the membrane of the gate.
A tentacle vine touches the other side.
Hope drops the flashlight and swims towards the surface.
As she swims, the vine slips out of the membrane.

In the boat, the three girls are waiting for Hope to come to the surface.
The water gushes loudly as Hope shows up.
"I found it."
"You found it?" Josie looks at her amazed.
"Yeah. I found it." Hope answers with a smile, grabbing the boat.
Lizzie takes out her walkie talkie again.
"MG, Hope found the gate-"
Before she could say anything else, MG turns the walkie talkie off.

"It's pretty wild. It's more a snack-sized gate than the mama gate, but it's still pretty damn big."
Hope is suddenly pulled into the water and quickly surfaces again.
She looks around confused.
The vine suddenly pulls her back down towards the gate.
"Hope!" Josie shouts.
The vine pulls Hope through the portal to the other side.
