Josie Saltzman stood in front of the full-length mirror, adjusting the delicate lace on her wedding dress. The sunlight filtered through the window, casting a soft glow on her reflection. Her heart raced with a mix of excitement and nerves as she prepared for one of the most important days of her life. Today, she was getting married.

As she smoothed the fabric over her hips, the door creaked open behind her. Josie turned to see Hope Mikaelson standing in the doorway, her expression unreadable. There was a time when the sight of Hope would have made Josie's heart skip a beat, but today was supposed to be about moving forward with her fiancé.

"Hey," Josie said, her voice trembling slightly. "What do you think of it?"

Hope's breath caught in her throat as she took in the sight before her. Josie looked radiant, a vision of beauty and grace. But more than that, there was an undeniable ache in Hope's chest as she realized, with startling clarity, what she had been ignoring for so long. She loved Josie. Deeply. In a way that went beyond friendship or camaraderie.

Hope's mind raced, her emotions a whirlwind of confusion and regret. How had she been so blind? How had she let this moment come to pass without ever confessing her feelings? She struggled to find words, her mouth opening and closing without sound.

"Hope?" Josie's voice was soft, filled with concern. "Are you okay?"

"I..." Hope began, her voice breaking. She looked into Josie's eyes, those familiar eyes that had always seen her for who she truly was. "You look... beautiful."

Josie smiled, a blush creeping up her cheeks. "Thank you."

There was a silence, heavy with unspoken words. Hope's heart pounded in her chest as she fought against the urge to say what she had kept hidden for so long. She wanted to be the one waiting at the altar for Josie, to promise her a lifetime of love and happiness. But the words wouldn't come. She was paralyzed by the fear of ruining Josie's special day and the uncertainty of her own feelings.

Josie turned back to the mirror, adjusting her veil. "I've been waiting for this day my whole life," she said softly, almost to herself.

Hope swallowed hard, forcing a smile. "And you deserve every happiness, Josie."

As Josie's bridesmaids entered the room, chattering excitedly, Hope took a step back, feeling like an outsider in this moment that should have been filled with joy. She slipped out of the room, her heart heavy with the weight of unspoken love.

Throughout the ceremony, Hope watched Josie with a bittersweet smile, clapping and cheering with the rest of their friends and family. But inside, she made a silent promise to herself. She would cherish the moments they shared, hold onto the memories, and support Josie in her newfound happiness. And maybe, one day, she would find the courage to tell Josie the truth.

As the newlyweds shared their first dance, Hope stood on the sidelines, her heart aching but resolute. She would always love Josie, even if it meant loving her from afar. And maybe, in another lifetime, their story would have had a different ending.

There might be a part 2, if you guys want that. Let me know :)
