"Let's talk about the Starbound competition. Can we have a round of applause?" Abby says, "Brooke, you blew them away, the people sitting around me were in awe. When you did your handstand twist, they went crazy. But why all the drama with the hip? If you are seriously injured, don't go to your mother, come straight to me. Eva, you also shined in our group dance. Your acro was very impressive for not having much training. Let's talk about this week's competition."I'm above Maddie on the pyramid!
"Brooke, you are getting a solo this weekend. Chloe, Maddie, Eva, you three are getting solos this weekend. Bottom row, what am I supposed to do with you four? Since we are in Pittsburgh this weekend I am going to give every single one of you a solo. Moms, it's gonna be a busy week." Abby says.
Maddie is doing a her solo rehearsal right now and Kenzie and Vivi have to sit in the room, so Chloe, Paige, Brooke, Nia, and I get to hang out in the Dancer's Den. We take lots of pictures and have lots of laughs. Our moms come in and tell us they are going out for food. Paige comes out and I go in.
Solo Rehearsal
"Alright Eva," Abby says, "You are doing an acro solo this weekend."
"Really?!" I ask, excited.
"Yes," Abby says, "I know you love acro, and you did really well in the dance last weekend."
She teaches me all of my dance and it's really fun. Maddie, Chloe, and Paige have to sit in on my solo rehearsal for some reason."Alright Eva, let's run your solo from the beginning," Abby says and I get into my starting position. Gia turns on my music and I start.
"Full out!" Abby yells, "Give it all you got." I go to do my back handspring, but I land on the side of my hand and I fall down. My hand starts to hurt really bad and I start to cry.
"What happened?" Abby asks.
"She landed on her hand weird," Gia says to Abby and the two of them walk over to me.
"Can you move it?" Abby asks and I try to move it and I can a little, but it hurts.
The door to the studio opens and my mom comes running in.
"I think she needs to go to the doctor," Abby says and Mom picks me up and takes me out to the car and to the ER.
The doctor does an X-ray and finds that I have a grade 1 sprain which should heal in a week. I'm worried that I won't be able to compete this weekend. The doctor comes back into the room.
"Is she going to be able to compete at a dance competition this weekend?" Mom asks.
"I don't think it's a good idea for her to compete this weekend," The doctor says and I look at my mom.
"We have to compete," Mom says, "Is there a way she can?"
"You can try compressing and icing it," The doctor says, "She should wear a brace of her wrist up until she has to go on stage. I also want to make you aware that her dancing this weekend could make her wrist worse."
