~You talk of the pain like it's all alright, but I know that you feel like a piece of you's dead inside~
Eva Carter, a young girl with a passion for dance, auditions for the reality TV show 'Dance Moms' and makes it on. Will she win or will she lose?
Mom takes me out of school early so I can go and talk to Abby. We arrive at the studio and I go to Abby's office.
"Miss Abby, can I talk to you for a minute?" I ask.
"I suppose," Abby says.
"I'm really sorry that I wasn't dancing my best last week and I'm even more sorry about my mom arguing with you," I say, "I was really hoping you would let me come back and be a part of the team."
"I don't know Eva," Abby says, "It's not that easy."
"I'll work really hard and I promise I won't let other things get in the way of me focusing on dance," I say.
We keep talking and then Abby has to go in to do pyramid. She tells me to go sit in the dancers' den. I assume she does the pyramid and then she yells, "You can come on in!"
I walk through the door with Mom and all the girls run up to hug me.
"Eva, I'm giving you a second chance, do not allow your mother to do that again," Abby says and I nod. Mom rolls her eyes.
"This weekend, we will be attending Dance Explosion in New Jersey. We will not be doing a group routine this week. Each and every dancer will be doing a solo. It's every man for himself. And the moms will be making the costumes. You will show me your idea and I will say yes or no. Nothing reused or from different studios," Abby says. ____________ Solo Rehearsal
"This week your solo is called Wonderland. Since I'm giving you a second chance, I expect a win from you. No more mistakes and I expect perfection," Abby says and I nod.
Abby starts to teach the dance and I really like it. It's lyrical and really pretty. I really think I will be able to win with it and hopefully get back on top. I think I'm gonna do really good this weekend.
"Good job!" Abby says after I nail my knee drop. ____________
Abby calls all is girls and Mom to the lobby to tell us something.
"We have a bit of an issue," Abby says, "This guy called and said that Dance Explosion is canceled because there isn't enough people coming."
"So, what are our options?" Jill asks.
"We have eight solos. The girls have worked hard and they are going to do the routines somewhere," Abby says.
"Why don't we call around and see if there's another competition we could go to?" Kelly says.
"Girls, by all means, do not slack off. I don't care if there's one person against you or a thousand people against you, you should go out and do the best performance you can. Back to class, Moms, back to work," Abby says.
We all meet in the studio a few hours later.
"Ladies, we are going to a competition this weekend. There's a competition in Texas. I want the girls to practice tonight. I'm keeping them here till every dance is perfect. The show must go on," Abby says and we nod. ____________ Competition Day
We arrive at the competition only to find out we are dancing on a gym floor. I hate dancing on gym floors. ____________ Eva's Interview
"Last time Abby took us to a competition where we had to dance on a gym floor, I slipped and hurt my back." ____________
Then we go into the dressing room and we all start to get ready for our solos. Brooke is up first, so she's the one that is really rushing.

Eva's costume with white booty shorts and similar trim on them.
We go sit in the audience in our jackets to watch Brooke. We cheer as she walks on. She does really good!
Then Kenzie goes on and we all cheer for her too. She does amazing! She's so cute!
Now we go back to the green room so the rest of us can get ready. I do my hair and makeup.
Abby walks into the room, "Jill, let me see Kendall's costume."
"Okay, this is the white costume," Jill says, holding up Kendall's costume that she clearly didn't make.
"You did not whip that up last night!" Abby says.
"I never said I did," Jill says, "I'm not Becky Homecky!"
"Where did that costume come from?" Abby asks.
"This is what I came up with," Jill says.
"Who owns that?" Abby asks.
"It's Kendall's costume," Jill says.
Then, Abby sends us girls to go stretch in the hallway with Gianna. Kendall starts crying and now Jill isn't going to let her dance.
We start running our dances in the green room and I'm ready to do my routine. We start walking to the gym and Nia gets really stressed because she can't remember one part in her solo. Holly follows her and we all meet up with them at the end of the hallway.
"Nia," I say, hugging her, "You got this. You are gonna do amazing."
"Nia," Holly says, "Come here," She pulls her in for a hug. All the girls and I start to hug her, trying to calm her down.
Maddie, Chloe, Kenzie, Brooke, and I go sit in the audience to watch Paige and Nia perform. Holly tells us that Nia was flipping out and is really scared to go on.
They announce her and we all cheer to build up her courage. She does really good! Holly starts to cry because she's proud of Nia.
Apparently, Kendall is gonna dance now in booty shorts and a crop top. They announce her and she goes on. She does really good too. After Kendall goes on, Chloe, Maddie, and I go down to the wings.
They announce Chloe on and Maddie, Paige, and I clap for her from on deck. She does really good. She is really really good at ballet. I give her a big hug when she gets off stage.
Now it's my turn. Chloe, Maddie, and Paige all give me a hug. I walk onstage and my music starts. I think I do really well. I do my fancy little walk offstage and the three girls all give me hugs. Abby makes Chloe, Paige, and I sit in the audience now.
Now it's Maddie. She goes on and she starts off really good. For it being a style she's never done, she's doing great! She goes to do her diving front walkover and she slips and lands really hard on her butt. Maddie runs off stage and some people end up having to carry her out because it hurts so bad she can barely walk. Melissa squeezes between Chloe and I to go after Maddie.
Now it's Paige's turn. I give her a hug because Abby let us go back over with her. She goes on and does so good! This is the best I've ever seen her perform! When she finishes, Chloe and I jump up and down clapping for her.
I pull her into my arms, "You did so good Paigey!" Chloe joins our hug. We go back to the dressing room and Abby walks in.
"Paige, how do you think you did?" Abby asks.
"Good!" Paige says.
"I thought you were great. Your energy was up and you were entertaining. It was very good!" Abby says. ____________ Solo Awards
For some reason, at this competition all of us are in the same category.
"Fourth place, from the Abby Lee Dance Company, Brooke! Third place, from the Abby Lee Dance Company, Chloe! Second place also from the Abby Lee Dance Company, Eva!" I go up and get my award before sitting back down, "Our junior champion also from the Abby Lee Dance Company, Paige!" We all scream for Paige when she gets announced as first place, she finally won!
When Paige comes back to sit down, we all attack her in hugs. ____________
This was a really great week. Abby comes in and gives all of us hugs. She's really proud of all of us this week, but she gives Paige the biggest hug.
"Every single one of you got a perfect score on your costumes," Abby says and the moms get real happy.
