"Come on girls, let's go! Let's go!" Abby yells as we run into the studio, "We beat Cathy again! I'm very proud! Let's get to the pyramid. On the bottom, Paige, you're injured. Next, Maddie. I wanted you to do a solo, you didn't do one. Next, Eva. You did great in your duet, but you fell out of your aerial in your solo. I've seen you do a side aerial blindfolded, heck, you could even do one in your sleep, yet you fell. That is not the Eva I know."

I look at Mom.

"Next, Chloe. Second is the first to lose. Next, Brooke. You barely got the bonnet on Maddie and you better thank Eva because she made sure that bonnet was on Maddie during her three counts. Next, Mackenzie. You got second in your duo, but you beat two boys. On top of the pyramid again is Nia!"

On top of the pyramid again is Nia!"

We all hug Nia. Yay!

"Abby, Kendall deserves to be on that pyramid," Jill says.

"You have to understand, Kendall is here because she is replacing Paige until Paige heals. The minute Paige is ready to dance, Kendall's outta here," Abby says.

"You could've told me that three weeks ago," Jill says.

"Why?" Abby asks.

Kendall starts to cry and Jill and Abby start fighting. I give Kendall a hug.

"This weekend is the 2012 ALDC showcase!" Abby says and we all cheer! "It is not a competition, but it is equally as important. We will be doing a new routine. The routine is called Light My Fire. It's hip hop!"

I smile. I'm good at hip hop.

"Now, Paige. It's been weeks. I think you are capable of performing in the routine," Abby says, "Kelly, you danced with me. I would like to see some of your old classmates at the show."

"God, I haven't seen them in 20 some years," Kelly laughs.

"There will be one person chosen from each age level to win a very generous cash scholarship," Abby says and we all smile.
____________
Group Rehearsal

We start to learn the group dance and it's not going very well. This dance is not hip hop. I don't know what it is... but it isn't hip hop.

Group Rehearsal

"Eva, you are my lead in this dance, you are gonna be front and center," Abby says.

"Don't you watch any hip hop videos?" Abby tells as we dance, "C'mon! Move!"

We do watch hip hop videos, but this isn't hip hop.

We keep dancing and it's not going very well.

"I'm trying to tell the whole world you're good at hip hop and I'm not seeing it. Start from the beginning and I want to see you sizzle," Abby says.

We start from the beginning.

"Eva, you're my hip hopper, I'm seeing the fire in you but not anybody else!" Abby yells.
