It's nationals week!!!

"Let's get to the pyramid. At the bottom, Paige. Moving on, Kenzie, then Nia, then we have Chloe, then Brooke, then Eva, and back on top we have Maddie. You are doing a solo and a duet with Chloe. Chloe, you will also be doing a solo. Eva, you will be doing a solo as well. You will also be doing a duet with Mackenzie. Paige and Brooke, you will be doing a duet. I want you to work as friends. Not sisters," Abby says, "Everybody is in the group routine, even Kenzie. In a group routine everybody needs to pull their wait. I'll tell you why, because we need to win! Let's get to rehearsal."

Abby starts to teach us the group routine.

"Ladies," Abby says, "Your piece is called Beautiful, and what it's about is not how pretty you are gonna be in your costume, not how pretty your hair is, but what's on the inside. It's about taking a good look in the mirror, not at what you see, but at like the internal mirror. Are you getting any of the Kenzie?"

Kenzie nods.

"Yeah, it's a little deep," Abby says. Then, she hands us all a mirror, "Use the mirrors to cover your face."

Solo Rehearsal

"Your solo this week is called 'Dancing in the Sky.' It's about hoping that the people you love that have passed are okay and safe in heaven," Abby says.

She starts to teach me my dance and it's a lot of work. I'm really tired after this season. I hope I can just get through nationals with one last win.

"Eva, you will be competing in the same category as Chloe, but not Maddie," Abby says.

I keep dancing.

"Hey, hey," Abby says and I stop dancing, "Are you okay?"

"I'm tired," I say.

"I know honey," Abby says, "You've got five minutes left of rehearsal, then I'll work with Chloe and give you a break until your duet rehearsal."

I work for the last five minutes, but I'm not doing too hot. After rehearsal, I walk out to the hallway and go over to my mom.

"What's wrong baby?" She asks me.

"I'm tired," I say.

"I know honey, but you've only got this week and then all the pressure's gone till next season, okay?" She says and I nod, "Just make it through this week and then you only have classes." Mom pulls me into a hug.

"I don't wanna take a break from dance," I say.

"What do you mean?" Mom asks.

"It's too much pressure and it's really stressing me out Mom, it's not fun anymore," I say.

"Oh baby," She says, pulling me into another hug, "Apparently, Chloe's thinking the same thing as you, so I'll talk to Christi too, okay?"

"Okay. When you guys had that talk with Abby about what we need to work on, what did she say about me?" I ask.
