Mom and I walk into the studio with the Zieglers.

"Hi guys!" Layla says when we walk in.

"Hi Layla!" I say.

"Hi, how are you?" Mom asks.

"Good, I'm good," Layla says.

"Any update on Mrs. Miller yet?" Melissa asks.

"She's not doing well," Layla says, "But Abby is here. I don't know how long she's gonna be here, but she is here."

I love Mrs. Miller. She's like a third grandma to I me. I love her so much and I'm gonna miss her when she passes.

Maddie, Kenzie, and I run into the den to start stretching.

The moms start talking about Mrs. Miller and it's sad.

"Come on girls, let's go!" Abby calls and we run into the studio. I stand between Chloe and Kalani.

"Congratulations on the group girls! We were the highest scoring group routine of the entire competition 12 times in a row!" Abby says, "I wanted a twelfth for my shelf and now I have it. We are going, once again, to Ohio. Let's get to the pyramid."

"Maddie. Mackenzie. Kendall. Chloe. Nia. And Kalani. Because you all did exactly what you were supposed to do! When you can't hear the music and something goes wrong, you keep dancing," Abby says, "Eva is on the top only because of her high scoring solo performance. You weren't just great, you were fantastic, beautiful, and everything in between."

I smile and Nia comes and hugs me

I smile and Nia comes and hugs me.

"This week I'm deciding on the new team. The unveiling of this team is a really vital audition in Pittsburgh," Abby says.

I look at Chloe.

"All of you will have somebody on the new team to go against you," Abby says.

We nod.

"You have won twelve times in a row. Will this team live up to that?" Abby asks, "I don't know. We are also having auditions for Mackenzie's music video this week. It will be run similar to how Eva's was."

"Now for this week's assignments, let's go. I might now be there this weekend," Abby says, "As you know, my mother is dying. She's not gonna get better. She's not gonna be cured. Right now, what hospice care is trying to do is make her comfortable."

I start to tear up a little.

"Can I say something?" Melissa asks, "I just want to tell you that, thank you so much for letting me be such a part of your mom's life. The past couple of years, we've been so close to your moms. She's like my mom now..."

Now I start crying.

This is so sad...

Abby waves Maddie forward and Maddie runs to hug her.
