Background:
The pain of not knowing true family was never one that Justine knew. She didn't remember the day that her parents dropped dead from disease, leaving the young girl in the hands of a family friend. Even when she was told at the age of nine that she was, in fact, adopted, it didn't cause Justine distress. Whoever her biological parents were didn't matter, she had a family. The Sokolov family was her family, not whoever abandoned her previously. It wasn't like it mattered, she looked similar enough to her elder sister Alice that no one would have questioned it.
Growing up, Justine was a very tough child. She kept a cold exterior, as she felt it important to do so to keep her older sister safe, since Alice was much more sensitive than she was.
