'Just Friends'

"May I have this dance Mrs. Danvers-Luthor?" Kara asked as she extended her hand to Lena. "But of course!" Lena replied with a smile. They walked to the center of the barn as a slow song began playing. "What is this?" Lena whispered. "Just listen...you'll know it." Kara whispered back. 'A slowed version of 'lover' by Taylor Swift and Shawn Mendes began to play over the speakers'

"Really?" Lena asked. "Of course. The girl in all my stories has always been you Lee...and that is never gonna change." Kara replied as they swayed to the music. Slowly other people began joining them and dancing to the music. It was now getting dark outside the barn and people were eating and dancing the night away. Blue eyes locked on to green as they shared a long slow kiss as cameras flashed around them. After the song ended Kara and Lena walked over to the buffet and began piling their plates full of food before returning to their table.

"I believe it is time for the older sister to make her speech!" Alex exclaimed. "Oh Rao..." Kara groaned. "It'll be ok love." Lena replied as she held the blondes hand. Everyone watched as Alex adjusted the microphone.

"Ok...so where to start...gosh...ummm when Kara first joined our family I hated her. Sorry Lena but it's true! I hated your wife with a passion! I did everything I could think of to annoy her! That was until one day at school someone had dumped their food all over her in the cafeteria. They'd been teasing her for being different, they kept saying that Kara wasn't mom and dad's real child. They said that our parents felt bad for the weird child no one wanted and that's why they adopted her. I walked in and caught the last part of the conversation..and I was pissed. I beat those bullies to a pulp...it got me a month's detention and two months of being grounded but it was totally worth it. After that day I made it very clear to everyone that Kara Danvers is my sister and no one messes with her. Over the years I saw my baby sister grow into the amazing woman she is today. If I had to choose someone for Kara to share her life with...no one would ever come close to Lena. When they began hanging out 'as friends' my exe turned friend and I made a bet...that one day these two would end up getting married to one another. And look here we all are at their wedding reception soooo Mags! Pay up!  But really I'm so happy to be the one to say that I was able to watch my baby sister fall in love with her best friend...her perfect game night partner...and all around partner in crime..." Alex finished her speech and wiped a tear from her eye before passing the mic to Sam.

"Holy cow! How is anyone supposed to top that...thanks Alex...I've known both Kara and Lena for only a short time but it feels like I've known them my entire life. When I moved here with my daughter I never for one minute thought that I'd not only make friends with anyone...but that those friends would turn into family. Kara and Lena were so welcoming and quickly became the sisters I never knew I wanted. You two quickly became Auntie Lena and Auntie Kara to Ruby and never looked back. I remember when Lena told me she was gonna confess her feelings to Kara at the gala. I was very supportive...but who wouldn't be? I mean I sat back and watched these two dancing around each other for years. I was so happy to finally see you two idiots finally get together and I was even more excited when I learned that you two were getting married! I can't wait to return the favor of spoiling all my nieces and nephews like you two spoil Ruby. To Kara and Lena!" Sam finished her speech as everyone clapped and cheered.

After all the speech's were made Kara and Lena made their rounds thanking everyone for coming. "We're heading out..our limo is here." Kara said as she hugged J'onn. "Be safe." J'onn replied. "We will." Lena replied. "Call as soon as you land." Eliza stated. "We will mom." Kara replied. "Bring me something home!" Ruby chimed in. "We will!" Lena replied. "Try to leave the bedroom..." Sam teased. "We'll do our best to not to." Kara replied. "Take care of my baby sister." Alex said. "I will Alex. I promise." Lena replied. "Have fun Little Danvers, Mrs little Danvers." Maggie added. "We will. Bye everyone!" Lena and Kara shouted as they walked to the limo.
