Two months after hey began trying for Lori's sibling Lena found out she was pregnant again. "We have some news!" Kara said as she sat down the food onto their table. "What is it?" Alex asked. "We're pregnant!" Lena exclaimed happily. "Again?" Sam asked her voice full of shock. "Yesss!" Ruby exclaimed happily. "Yea...we talked about it and we want Lori and this sibling to be close in age." Kara replied. "And how many children are you planning on having?" Eliza asked. "We're planning on one more and then I'll have my tubes tied. However...Kara said that twins run in her family...even though they're rare...so if we end up with twins then we won't complain either." Lena replied.
"I hope it's twins!" Ruby exclaimed. "Oh Rao Ruby...if it's twins you'll be babysitting a lot." Kara replied. "That's ok!" Ruby replied with a smile. "You say that now..but wait till you have to change a messy diaper! Lori has a bad habit of dropping the worst stink bombs right before bed." Lena added. "Eww...never mind...I take back what I said." Ruby groaned. Everyone burst out in fits of laughter.
After dinner Ruby raced to the sofa to hold Lori who was very squirmy now. "Hold still Lori...here are you hungry? Do you want some of this smelly milk stuff?" Ruby asked holding the bottle in her hand. "I think she is, here hold her up and feed her." Lena said as she helped reposition Lori in Ruby's arms. "Ok...like this?" Ruby asked as she began feeding Lori. "Yes that's right." Kara replied. Everyone watches as Ruby continues to feed her cousin before the contents of the bottle are empty. "Now what?" Ruby asked. "Well now you burp her. So lay this cloth on your shoulder like so.." Kara said as she instructed the girl. "Then turn Lori around like this so her heads right here." Kara added. "Now gently pat her back till you hear a soft burping sound." Kara instructed.
Once Lori was burped Lena took her into her arms and got her calmed down enough so she'd nap for a little while before bedtime. "Has she gotten better at sleeping now that you've flipped her?" Eliza asked. "Oh yes, she sleeps through the whole night now, this morning she slept till eight thirty! It was amazing!" Kara replied smiling at her wife and daughter. "That's always a blessing! Now Ruby sleeps in that late anytime she doesn't have school...sometimes we have to drag her out." Sam replied. Everyone but Ruby laughed at that.
