"Hurry!" Ashlyn shouted, picking up the pace. The others were right behind her, and so was a hoard of at least 10 phantoms. "They're gaining!" Taylor exclaimed, panic evident in her tone of voice. The group ran for their lives until finally the graveyard gate could be seen in the distance.

"We're almost there, c'mon!" Ashlyn glanced behind her, the phantoms were gaining on them by the second. Curse their irritating speed.

"Logan, open the gate!" Tyler demanded, talking into the walkie talkie he had on his belt. As the group got closer to the graveyard, the gate slowly began to open. Just in time for all of them to quickly run in, Logan immediately shut the gate after everyone was safely inside.

The group stopped running, each taking a moment to catch their breath. Tyler was slumped over a tire on the ground, Aiden sitting beside him looking equally exhausted. Ashlyn was hunched over with her hands on her knees for support, she was attempting to steady her breathing and calm her erratically beating heart.

"I hate phantoms." Taylor complained, collapsing to her knees, Ashlyn was quick to check on her. "Same here." Tyler replied, leaning his head against Aiden's shoulder. "What time is it?" Ashlyn questioned, looking at Logan who reached for the phone in his pocket.

"We have 10 minutes still.." he replied, showing the girl his phone screen, sure enough it was 10 minutes until 7am. "Alright.. I'm going to start planning for next time then." Ashlyn stated, making her way towards their self-assigned planning bus.

"I'll help!" Taylor volunteered, she jogged after the shorter girl. Now it was just the four boys alone. Ben was sitting on a crate, fiddling with his slingshot weapon. Logan was adjusting his belt, it was too tight for his liking. "My legs hurt." Tyler grumbled, his legs were hanging limp over the edge of the tire he was sitting in.

Ashlyn and Taylor came back a few minutes later, "okay, so here's our goal for the next night." The redhead girl began, "so I'm pretty sure everyone's noticed that we're low on food, and Taylor said that there's a grocery store near hers and Tyler's place."

Tyler sat up, his eyes lit up in recognition, "oh yeah, we go there all the time when we want snacks." he said, looking at his sister who smiled. "I don't think anyone besides you two have been there, how big is it?" Logan questioned, looking between the twins.

"It's pretty big, there's a big food variety there too." Tyler confirmed, resting his arm around Aiden's shoulder. The blonde leaned into his hold. Ashlyn shot the two a subtle knowing look before beginning to speak, "sounds good, we'll make that our goal for the next night then." she said.

With 3 minutes left on the clock, the group made their way onto the bus, getting into their respective positions for the shift.

The group woke up in their beds, dreading the school day waiting to torment them. They met at their usual bus stop and sat in seats near each other. "I'm so exhausted." Taylor complained, resting her head on top of Ashlyn's. The shorter girl just tolerated it. "We all are, sleep is so rare now." Ben typed out in his translator.

Sleep was so rare for the group they were lucky if they managed to get more than 2 hours in. They barely had time for naps during the day because of their busy lives. Obviously night time wasn't an option either, they were caught up in trying to survive.

Eventually, they made it to school. As usual, all of them struggled to stay awake during class, well except for Aiden.

That boy seemed to have energy 24/7.
