"he wants me to what?"
"please ashley. you don't get it just say it please."
she scowled at me as i tried to convince her to talk to travis and prove she actually forgived him. i'm not a very good persuader.
"come on, ash. after everything i told you?"
her gaze softened as i mentioned travis' life and she exhaled through her nose.
"okay. just.. come with me will you?"
i followed her around the corridor as we searched around for travis, luckily we didn't bump into him, and just came face to face with him, which wasn't totally awkward."hey travis."
he stood still, nodding.
"ashley."
staying still he held his bible firmly to his chest and stared her down.
"i forgive you okay? i'm fine with you joining this friend group."
she held her hand out for him to take, travis taking it soon after and shaking it quickly. as she walked away i stayed by travis' side, peering up at him as soon as she left.
"was that enough?"
he nodded violently, fiddling with the pages of his bible. he opened his mouth to speak but stopped, looking down at me too.
"are you okay travis?"
instead of responding immediately like he always did he sighed and looked into the distance, biting his nails.
"i really don't know.""i don't know if i'm okay either."
he breathed out and rubbed his eyes.
"don't worry about it. i- uh. i'm here for you by the way. you already have my number."
i smiled sweetly and chuckled quietly.
"just tell me if you need to get away from your dad or something and maybe we can go look at some daisies together."
"huh?"
"i mean go down to the forest. there's tons of flowers there, maybe we can look together. i love flowers."
"buttercups are my favourite."
as i smiled once more i noticed a single tear roll down his cheek.
"what's wrong?"
he wiped it quickly and began walking away.
"nothing. see you at lunch.. at your table."
i chuckled, having a bad feeling in my stomach.sal
having travis sit with us was weird, we mostly stayed silent the whole time, which none of us including travis liked. we all wanted to talk but i think ashley was the one keeping everyone quiet, as she talks the most out of everyone. the few times we did talk travis didn't really pay attention, apart from when todd spoke about the issues something travis somehow never knew about."i'm sorry you're.. you're transgender?"
he pointed in shock and disbelief. todd seemed confused but also flattered.
"i mean yeah. i always have been. i'm flattered you can't tell me differently from a man."
"no, i can't. you look more like a man than me."
that was one way of apologising to todd, and it worked for him. maple and chug didn't really need one, so that was presumably all of us, even though travis hadn't properly apologised to todd. i pulled my phone out of my pocket, flipping up the screen.sal
that's everyone right? he's apologised to everyone?larry
yea
