AMAR'S POV:

It's been a few days since our Tilak ceremony, and I haven't spoken to her because of my own damn anger issues. I want her, but seeing her cry over someone else drives me insane. How can she? Just how can she?

Today, I'm going to meet her-we're going shopping since tomorrow is our engagement. I know we're late for this; I thought she would have done it already, but I was wrong. When I asked Ruhi, she told me Avni hadn't found time to go shopping and didn't know what her family wanted either. So, I asked Bua to talk to her family. How can they be so careless towards her? I don't understand. Even when they were here, they didn't show much interest in her matters, not even doing a background check on me. Is she really their daughter or adopted?

I shook my head to clear my thoughts. I don't care if she's their real daughter or adopted-I want her, and she will be mine.

---

Soon, we reached the mall. As I'd decided earlier, I was going to talk to her and apologize for my behavior. I don't want her to think poorly of me, and I especially don't want her thinking about Arjun. He's been with her from the start. I don't want him to snatch her from me. He's everyone's favorite; he gets whatever he wants-so why not me?

But this time, I will take her from him, by hook or by crook.

Before I could move towards her, Ruhi dragged her somewhere. But I'll find her soon. I'll apologize, and she'll forgive me easily. I won't have to work hard for her forgiveness; I've noticed she's a kind-hearted person.

After that, we selected her dress-or rather, I did. I want her to wear what I like for our engagement, and even for the wedding. I wished she'd choose something for me, but she didn't. Maybe she's scared since Bua's been strict with her. I told Bua to be calm and not put too many restrictions on her, but did she listen? No, she didn't. She thinks if we're not strict with Avni, she'll do something to tarnish our pride.

I can't stop Bua, but I'll try my best to support Avni.

After shopping, we went for lunch. I wanted to spend some time alone with her, but there she was, sitting with Dev and Ruhi. I don't mind her sitting with them, but I don't want her getting too close. What if someday Arjun snatches her from me with their help?

I don't have anyone with me. My parents died in an accident, and she's the only person my heart has craved in years. I know I've behaved like a jerk in the past, but I've promised myself I'll become the man she deserves. I'll build the qualities she wants in me, she just has to say the word. But for now, I need to spend time alone with her to know her better.

What can I do for that? Idea! I'll ask Bua.

"Bua, I want to ask you something." I said politely.

"Do you want a new car or something?" She asked, raising her eyebrows. I shook my head.

"Oh my God! You don't want a car? Then what does my son want?" She teased.

"Actually, I want to spend some alone time with Avni. Can I take her to another table and have lunch with her, only if you allow me?" I replied.

She smiled. "Avni, go and sit with Amar at that table." Bua ordered in a strict tone.

"But why, Bua? They can eat here with us." Ruhi protested. I facepalmed.

How can she get engaged and not crave to spend time with Mihir (Aarohi's fiancé)? I raised my eyebrows and gave her an offended look. She soon understood and agreed to let Avni come with me. Thank God. Now, I'll finally get to spend some time with her. We settled on the separate table.
