ARJUN'S POV:
The day I dropped her off was the last time I saw or spoke to her. It has been over a week since then. I had to leave for Udaipur to oversee some arrangements. I usually live in Udaipur but often travel to Mumbai or other places for work. Today, I returned to Mumbai to handle some business and check on the details I had asked my private investigator to gather about her.
Sitting in my office, I opened the file containing her information. She comes from a simple family and has been an 𝒂𝒄𝒂𝒅𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝒕𝒐𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒓 𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒍𝒅𝒉𝒐𝒐𝒅. That fact alone amazes me. As I skim through the details about her childhood, family, and friends, I notice a man in almost all her pictures. Why is he always with her?
I immediately called my assistant into my office.
"Find out everything about this guy," I instructed, pointing to the photo. He nodded and left without a word.
Returning to the file, I came across her family pictures and a revelation shocked me. A woman in one of the photos looked eerily familiar-exactly like the event manager from the party. Could it be? Yes, her name is Anya Desai, Avni's twin sister. But why did they behave like strangers at the party? Their behavior still puzzles me. Shaking off my confusion, I focused on her professional details. She works as a jewelry designer at Suresh Jewellery Designing House. A jewelry designer. That caught my attention.
Just as I was about to read further, my phone buzzed. Maa-sa was calling. I answered immediately.
"Khamma Ghani, Maa-sa," I greeted.
"Ghani Khamma, Arjun. Kaise ho beta? Achhe se pahunche?"
(Greetings in Rajasthani. How are you, son? Did you reach safely?)
"Maa-sa, main theek hoon. Haan, main achhe se pahunch gaya hoon. Aapko kuch kaam tha kya?" I asked, sensing hesitation in her tone.
"Actually, beta, your Dadu-sa has decided that the jewelry for your coronation will be designed by Avni-specifically, your jewelry. Will that be okay with you? Oh, and I forgot to mention, Avni is Aarohi's best friend," Maa-sa said in one breath.
A smirk formed on my lips. Perfect. This was a great opportunity to learn more about her and her mysterious sister.
"Okay, Maa-sa. That's fine with me," I replied calmly. After a brief conversation, I ended the call.
I wasted no time and called the boss of Suresh Jewellery Designing House. He picked up quickly, his voice trembling.
"Good morning, sir. How may I assist you?"
"I'll be direct since I don't like wasting time. I want your designer to create the jewelry for my coronation," I said firmly.
"Of course, sir! I'll send you the best designs and two of our senior designers with six years of experience-"
"No. I want Avni Desai to design my jewelry," I interrupted.
"But sir, she's just an intern and still learning-"
"Do as I say. She will work from my office, and no one else is to see the designs. Send her to my office tomorrow at 10 a.m. Is that clear?" I instructed it coldly.
