Sorry everyone, I know I'm late for updating this chapter. Actually my recharge got over yesterday and Wi-fi was going to install in the morning but it got set-up now at 10:30 pm. So, I'm updating it NOW. Thank you so much for having so much patience with me and my book.
THIRD PERSON POV:
"Free her from this cage and let her fly with you," Devraj said, locking eyes with Arjun.
"But she's not safe outside this mansion," Arjun replied, his voice tense. Shekhar nodded in agreement.
"Then let her die with this ABI," Kunal snapped.
"KUNAL KAPOOR!" Arjun and Shekhar roared in unison.
"Calm down, guys," Vivaan said, trying to ease the tension.
"Calm down my foot, Vivaan! Did you hear what he just said?" Arjun growled, glaring at Kunal.
"Enough!" Nitin interjected. "We'll find a solution. Let's talk like humans."
Everyone settled back into their seats.
"Let her live her life. We can't keep her locked up forever just because of that idiotic cousin of yours," Kunal said more calmly.
"She's a human being, Arjun. She has the right to live freely. We're all here to protect her. Dev is sending his best men, Shekhar's assembling a team, and one of us will always be with her. Amar won't get a chance to harm her," Nitin added.
"If you keep her caged like this, she might develop social anxiety. She could lose the ability to communicate with others," Vivaan warned.
"Vivaan's speaking as a doctor. Trust him. Let her live," Shekhar said, and the others nodded.
Arjun sighed. "Fine. But Dev—I want your best fighters, not just anyone. Shekhar, arrange the top-tier bodyguard team. She'll join the office tomorrow. Also, find a Western Jewellery Designing professor for her. I want her to excel in everything."
Everyone agreed. Just then, a knock echoed through the room.
"Come in," Arjun said coldly.
And there she was—his Queen.
Avni entered, half-asleep, unaware of the others in the room. Arjun fought the urge to kiss her pouty lips as she walked straight to him, standing beside his desk.
"What happened, baby?" he asked, gently taking her hand.
"Why did you leave me alone?" she murmured like a child.
He pulled her onto his lap, her head resting on his chest, legs curled sideways.
"Bring the cozy quilt," he said into the phone, adjusting her gently. Her eyes were already closed.
Shekhar smiled softly, watching his sister find comfort. The others were touched by the moment, but only Avni knew the real reason she clung to him—waking up without him triggered her anxiety.
The maid returned with the quilt. Arjun wrapped it around her, and she snuggled closer. He continued discussing business and her safety measures in Italian with his friends.
An hour later, he gently woke her.
"Good evening, baby," he whispered, kissing her forehead.
She smiled shyly.
"We didn't know Arzi could speak softly too," Vivaan teased. Avni jumped in surprise.
Arjun groaned in pain and held her waist tightly. She looked at him, and he pressed his forehead to hers.
"Calm down. Only your brothers are here. No one else. Don't be scared," he said softly.
"Rahul Bhai..." she whispered, trembling.
"No, baby. Not Rahul. Your Shekhar, Dev, Nitin, Vivaan, and Kunal Bhai are here. They came to see you, but you were sleeping, so we stayed quiet," he reassured her.
She relaxed and pulled away, settling properly on his lap. After a yawn, she removed the quilt and stood up.
"I'll freshen up and join you all later," she said, walking off. The boys chuckled at her cute antics.
"Have you noticed the change in her behavior?" Shekhar asked, drawing everyone's attention.
"What do you mean?" Nitin asked.
"She never used to cling to Arjun, even when scared. But today, just not seeing him beside her made her come here. She's getting attached—but also dependent. If we keep her isolated, she might fear others. We need to take her out, let her explore the world," Shekhar explained.
"Shekhar's right, Arzi. As a doctor, I recommend taking her to public places—temples, theatres, restaurants—more often," Vivaan added. Arjun nodded in agreement.
"Now let's eat. I want something made by Avni. She's the best cook!" Vivaan exclaimed dramatically.
A moment ago, he was serious—now he was acting like a kid.
"She won't cook. I don't let her near the kitchen these days. Her condition isn't stable, and she's careless with herself," Arjun said firmly. Shekhar and Dev agreed.
Vivaan didn't push further. They moved to the hall, and soon Avni joined them, sitting beside Arjun. They chatted over snacks, then headed to the theatre room to watch a movie.
Arjun wrapped them both in a cozy quilt.
"What do you want to watch, princess?" Shekhar asked.
"Can I choose the movie?" she asked hesitantly.
He nodded.
"Frozen 1. I've never watched it before," she said with a smile. Everyone agreed.
They watched the movie, snacking and sipping drinks. During dinner, Vivaan noticed Avni struggling with table manners. He subtly signaled everyone to eat casually. Dev dropped his spoon first and began eating biryani with his hands. Arjun followed, and soon everyone joined in. Avni smiled and did the same.
After ice cream, they all left. Arjun and Avni returned to their room, freshened up, and lay on the bed. He pulled her close, caressing her hair and talking about his day.
Then, casually, he asked, "Where do you want to go in your free time?"
She looked at him for a long moment before replying.
"Orphanage."
