THIRD PERSON POV –
"Migraine and Alzheimer's disease."
"Alzheimer's?" Arjun asked, needing confirmation. The doctor nodded solemnly.
"You need to take care of her—and please ensure she eats properly," the doctor added. Arjun nodded silently.
After the doctor left, Arjun took a shower. Half an hour later, he lay beside Avni and pulled her into his embrace.
"Why do you always neglect your health, jaan?" he whispered to her sleeping figure.
He kept talking to her softly for a while, until sleep finally claimed him.
Midnight
Avni stirred in her sleep, feeling a weight on her waist. She blinked slowly, adjusting her vision, and saw her handsome husband sleeping peacefully beside her. She gently tried to move his arm, but he woke with a jolt, sensing her movement. Relief washed over his face as he saw her eyes open. He sat up and helped her sit.
"Water," she croaked.
He brought the glass to her lips and helped her drink. Then he walked into the closet and returned within minutes, handing her a nightdress. He kissed her forehead and murmured, "Change your clothes. I'll bring something for you to eat."
She smiled at his quiet care.
Half an Hour Later
Arjun returned with a tray and placed it on the coffee table. He picked Avni up in bridal style and sat on the couch with her in his lap. She wriggled slightly but settled quickly. He began feeding her gently.
"Why aren't you eating, Arjun?" she asked softly, noticing his untouched plate.
"I ate earlier. Now you eat," he replied, but she shook her head.
"I know you didn't eat dinner without me," she said, feeding him the bite he was holding.
They fed each other quietly. Afterward, he gave her the medicines. She made faces, and he smiled at her cuteness. Later, they lay on the bed, her head resting on his chest as he patted it gently. She drifted off to sleep.
Morning
They had breakfast together and settled on the sofa. Avni fidgeted nervously, and Arjun noticed.
"What's wrong, baby?" he asked, holding her hands.
"I don't want to learn Western Jewellery Designing from Vanya. Can you please change my professor?" she asked in a pleading tone.
"Did something happen?" he asked, sensing her stiffness. She hesitated.
"No... I just want someone else, if you allow," she stammered.
"I'll hire someone else for you," he said, kissing her forehead. She sighed in relief.
"Now go get ready," he added.
"You're sending me to Mumbai?" she asked, suddenly insecure.
"Please don't send me there. I won't demand anything. I'll learn whatever you say, from whomever you choose. Just don't send me back, please Arjun," she pleaded.
He pulled her into a hug, rubbing her back gently.
"I'm not sending you away. We're going to the hospital for your check-up. I don't want to take risks with your health," he whispered. She sighed in relief and went to get ready.
Thirty minutes later, they left in his car.
Hospital
"We have an appointment with Dr. Shrivastav," Arjun told the receptionist.
