Son of the Major Howard "Brown Python" Martin of the FOXHOUND Special Forces Unit, Frank Martin is a former US Ranger and a master of CQC, trained by his father. In 2009, when he was still teenager, he was about to be killed by a Russian mercenary, only to be saved by the legendary Solid Snake. He felt he was in debt with Snake and started to look up to him, he said that Solid Snake is the model of what a true soldier should be. In 2010, at the age of 18, he joined the US Rangers, where he met a fellow recruit named Isaac Wesley, the two became friends. In 2014, Frank and Isaac were led by Howard and former FOXHOUND commander, Colonel Roy Campbell. Campbell gave them the task to help Solid Snake in South America and Martin earned the codename "Stealth Python". Just as he was about to warn Campbell about Liquid Ocelot's plans, Martin and his team got surrounded by Liquid's men. Martin and his father escaped, but his father was mortally wounded by an enemy mercenary. Then Martin discovered that Isaac betrayed him and his father, later Wesley vanished. He was depressed for some time, but Campbell, after Liquid Ocelot was defeated and eliminated, brought him to talk to an old Solid Snake. Snake comforted him and taught him a life lesson on what's worth fighting for and to belive in. Martin learned a lot from talking with Snake, so he decided to rejoin the US Rangers to get stronger. A few days later, Captain Gabriel T. Rorke and Lieutenant Elias T. Walker of Task Force Stalker, A.K.A. the Ghosts visited Martin and offered him a place in the unit. Having heard about the reputation of the Ghosts, Martin accepted the offer and joined them. He became a Field Commander and a CQC expert of the unit. He's also the master of Hesh, Logan and Aiden Jackson. He became a legend after the Federation War, earning the codename "Black Boss". He's oftenly compared to Solid Snake and Big Boss.
