Years later, he joined 90WISH and became friends with Persica and Lycoris, he respected Frederick Von Oberstein. He met Hal "Otacon" Emmerich and the two of them became friends. He developed both the anti-virus Chiron and Project Grim Reaper. In 2030, he left 90WISH and continued the projects, until he met US Secretary of Defense, former member of Task Force Stalker and veteran of the Federation War, Thomas A. Merrick. Merrick asked Herny to join the G.H.O.S.T. PMC and the latter accepted it. He was part of the expedition in Colorado to find the Cryptid Technology. Thanks to the Cryptid Technology, he successfully created Chiron and S T-Dolls, such as FTac Recon and Kastov 762. He treated the S T-Dolls like they were his children. He placed the Cortex inside Markus to save him from the ELID. He also removed RPK16's chip from Anna's dead body and placed it inside RAAL MG's visor. At first, Emilia was disappointed in Herny for joining the 90WISH, but when she discovered that Herny joined the G.H.O.S.T., she became more forgiving and proud towards him. He hated Richard Monroe for creating Hades A.I., who planted Liquid Snake's DNA inside EX1.
