Lance began his military career as a Ranger. At some point prior to October 2038, he used to serve with Will "Blade" Riley in the same unit. That's when he started to sport a skull mask similar to Blade, albeit using a metallic skull face rather than a clothed one. After leaving the military, he worked alongside Razuris as a mercenary. Then one day, Lance joined Jake Graves's Shadow Company.
