Punishment

Sin slowly plunged the dagger into his abdomen, savoring each agonizing gasp. The squelching noise as the blade pierced his guts filled him with a twisted pleasure. Rob's eyes were wide in shock and fear, his mouth hanging open as life slowly began to drain him. His nasty blood soaked Sin's hand as he pushed in the knife to the hilt. He withdrew at an excruciatingly low speed, only to thrust it back in with lightning force, causing crimson blood to burst out from his mouth. Rob started to lose consciousness.

"I would have said see you in hell, brother, but I'll be following my angel to heaven," on this note, he stabbed him again, finally robbing Rob of his final breath. He let go of his mutilated body, letting it collapse to the floor. Stepping over it, he marched out of the bar.

...........

He returned home to find her fast asleep. She was lying on her side, facing away from his spot. After taking a shower and changing into clean clothes, he marched over to her sleeping form. Kneeling on the floor beside the bed, he gently took her hand in his and inspected the scratch with a frown. She hadn't even tended to them.

He retrieved the ointment from the drawer and tenderly applied it to her bruises. Even a single scratch on her was unbearable to him. A single tear in her skin was like a stab to his heart. He carried enough scars for both of them as it is. And he would gladly take more to protect her from harm. He will take all the pain and leave her only with happiness. She was too fragile and pure to endure the trials of life. As he rubbed the ointment, he realized that he could endure any suffering, any torture, but not a single scratch on her.

He pressed a light kiss into her palm before releasing her arm and shuffling to his side. As he lay on the bed, he carefully turned her so that she was facing him. Admiring her face was his favorite thing to do before closing his eyes to sleep. Drawing her to his chest, he felt a sense of peace blooming in his chest. This was it- his world. She had an inexplicable calming effect on him. All his devious, malicious thoughts would disappear as soon as his arms would find her. Never he was going to let go of her. Sleep weighed down on his lids before they fell close.

His eyes flung open upon feeling a movement. He turned to see her and found her sobbing in her dreams. Not surprised, he pulled her closer and began caressing her back in a soothing manner.

"Help her..she'll die..help her," she mumbled, trembling frantically.

"Sshhh..it's just a nightmare. You are okay," he whispered softly in her ear, stroking her back. This wasn't the first time she was having a nightmare. She would get this at least twice a week. He had learned to handle her now.

She calmed down a few moments later. Only after her breathing turned even did he let up his grip on her. Eyeing her in concern, he brushed away her tears. He stared at her for a long moment before closing his own eyes.

..........

"When are you going to introduce me to your nanna?" he inquired over the breakfast, causing her to freeze in her movement. He gauged her troubled expression.

"It's not that I am going anywhere. I am going to be in your life forever," he reminded her in case she was having other thoughts. His claim on her was eternal and not even God can change it.

"Soon," she monotoned, avoiding his scrutinizing eyes.

"Good. Or I am going to make the introductions myself," he threatened her, before putting a piece of apple into his mouth. She nodded stiffly.

He left for work after that.

The sight of Rob's dead body had put Viviana in a state of shock. His body was sent to her in two pieces. His both arms were severed from his body. The image was going to haunt her for the rest of her life.

After she recovered from the shock, a fierce hunger for revenge engulfed her. Her eyes blazed with vengeance.

"It's Sin, isn't it?" she questioned, fat tears rolling down her cheeks but her face was set in a hard line.

"Yes," her man confirmed.

After a private funeral for Rob, she returned home with a plan up her sleeve. It was clear Sin had a thing for his wife, even if it was temporary as she didn't consider him capable of love.

"I want to know everything about his wife. Everything," she gritted out to her men with hatred burning in her eyes.

There has to be some loophole. Something which would help her take him down.

......................

"You killed him?" Nivi questioned Sin, already knowing the answer. Viviana had called her in the morning. She had apologized to her for her son's behavior and told her how brutally Sin had murdered him.

"I did," he answered unapologetically. His eyes reflected no ounce of remorse and that scared her.

"Butchering people isn't always the answer," she snapped, her eyes exuding anger. Another death on her. He could have punished her in other ways. Why always kill someone?

"It is, for me," he replied, firm in his view.

"You are insane," words flew out of her mouth before she could understand. His eyes flashed with something lethal as he closed in on her like a predator to its prey.

"You are calling me insane for killing someone who hurt you?" he questioned, barely able to control his growing frustration. He couldn't understand her. She always sided with others and never took his side. Even now, she was supporting that twat over him.

"I am calling you insane for killing someone," she retorted, matching his glare. Something had come over her and she was no more afraid of him. Her anger had turned her brave.

He hovered over her as her back met the wall. His gaze reflected a mix of confusion and frustration. "What was I supposed to do? Worship him?" he gritted through his clenching teeth.

"No. You could have punished him in any way but..but killing someone is a bit extreme, don't you think?" she asked, appealing to even a shred of conscience within him, if existed.

"No. He deserved to die," he answered resolutely, dashing all her hope. She wasn't surprised but just a bit disappointed. There was no point calling out to his conscience. It was dead.

"You are not the one to decide that. You are not God," she argued, losing her patience with this dumb man.

"Many believe I am the God," he stated. She realised her mistake. She was banging her head against the wall. This man was so full of himself that he didn't even care about God. She knew from the beginning that it was futile to talk some sense into his big head but this time her frustration had gotten the best of her.

"Just don't kill people for me," she told him with her teary eyes. Her past already tormented her enough, she didn't need more burden to carry. She had dreamed of living a noble life after that horrible incident, not becoming the cause of more deaths.

He leaned closer, planting his palms on either side of her face. His eyes held a keen scrutiny.

"Why? Is it because you couldn't save her?" he asked, causing her world to come to a halt.
