Sin, half-asleep, stretched out his arm only to discover her side of the bed, cold and empty. He opened his eyes and sat up, feeling a bit disappointed. He wanted to cuddle with her and smother her beautiful face with his kisses before they went about their day. The room was tidy and clean except for their bedsheet. His mouth twitched into a gentle smile as he recounted last night. He could still feel her mouth on his scars, her body under his. A rush of warmth surged through him. She had reciprocated his feelings. She wanted him too, he had felt in her kisses. She loves him too.
He needed to see her.
With that thought in mind, he got off the bed, put on clothes, and set off to find her. While walking past a help, he asked her about Nivi and learned she had left for NGO. Disappointment flickered through him but he suppressed it, not wanting to entertain any negative thoughts now. From today on, there will be no place for any negativity in their lives. He instructed the help to take the day off and inform the rest of the staff to do the same. He was also going to tell Mikhail to take Chloe out. He desired to have his wife all to himself today, free from any interruption or disturbances.
As soon as he found himself alone in the mansion, he got to the task of preparing the surprise. He was happy and he was going to fill her life with happiness too. He will love her so much that she'll forget about her sufferings. He knew he had to earn her forgiveness and he will. He was determined to win her over in every sense.
He adorned the walls with thousands of her pictures- all the pictures he had taken of her without her knowing. Their wedding picture was in the center and largest of all. He took his sweet time admiring all her pictures, she looked breathtaking in all of them. After that, he covered the floor with red and white balloons, lending it a cozy, romantic atmosphere. He could have hired someone to do the job for him but he didn't as he wanted to do all the preparation himself. He wasn't willing to share even a glimpse of their private moments with others. He didn't realize when the hours passed.
She entered the room and was surprised to see her pictures all over the walls, not aware of his eyes on her.
She walked in, with him standing behind her. His gaze soft with adoration and tenderness as he watched her from the doorway. With her delicate charm, she had transformed his house into their warm, cozy sanctuary. That was her effect. His wife's warm, inviting presence had filled his barren life with indescribable joy. He wanted her to stay forever here with him.
Reaching her in three long strides, he spun her around and captured her mouth in a hot, passionate kiss. He sucked on her lips, savoring their sweet taste. Her bag dropped to the floor before his hands gripped her waist, pulling her impossibly closer.
"I missed you," he murmured against her lips, smiling subtly before dragging his mouth down her jaw to her throat. His kisses were scorching, fervent, drenching with need. When she didn't give any response, he looked up, only to find tears in her eyes.
His heart sank.
"Why are you crying?" he asked, dreading the answer now.
" Leave me, please," she said without meeting his eyes. She was furious with him, he could sense it but he didn't move aside.
"First, tell me," he persisted, determined to get the truth out of her. She responded with an intense scowl. Her seething eyes met his.
"What do you wanna know?" she asked as the first teardrop trickled down her cheek. "I am crying because I am disappointed in myself. I betrayed myself last night when I let you touch me," she confessed. Her confession felt like a hard punch to his guts.
"You regret," he uttered, severely disheartened.
"Every moment of it," she replied without hesitation. His heart wrenched apart. He retreated a step. The joy in his eyes now overshadowed by a deep sense of hurt.
