Enid skips to her large Television and switches it on, along with her bright pink controller, splashes of rainbow creating a beautiful (gay) design, one that matched that of her Playstation 5 console.
She offers a small smile to Xavier who was also turning his gaming console on

"Are you ready to embarrass yourself in front of Wednesday?"

Xavier says grinning as he plopped carelessely into his gaming chair

His eyes examine the ceiling as he lets out a loud scoff

"Well, she's not gonna show up anyways so"

Enid rolls her eyes to the back of her head, her patience wearing thin.

"She'll show up, she said she would"

She replies calmly, a warm smile spreading across her face as she remembers their interaction, the slight softening in Wednesday's eyes as the two locked eyes, the barely there quirk of Wednesday's lips as she noticed Enid's fidgeting hands, the slight nod, and the quick glance to Enid's glossy lips as the other agreed to join her tonight.
A small fire ignites in Enid's stomach, butterflies flooding her insides. Butterflies that quickly drop dead once Xavier opens his mouth again

"She never shows up-"

"YES! FOR YOU!"

Enid finally snaps, regretting her tone, wishing she hadn't used such a harsh tone.
Then she remembers this is Xavier, the guy who won't stop bothering Wednesday, who thinks that if he brothers her enough and pushes the right buttons, he'll get with her.

"How can you think you and I are the same in her eyes?"

She says genuinely curious, Xavier's jaw clenches at the comment as he turns on his chair, facing his monitor

"Fine, let's see how different you think you are Enid"

He lets out through gritted teeth

"Sure, and I bet you she also has a good and valid excuse as to why she's late. AND - she will apologize for being late"

"Wednesday doesn't apologize"

"No, she doesn't. Not to people she doesn't care about. That would be a waste of time for her"

Enid says as she takes a seat in her pink gaming chair and opens Call of Duty. She gently shoves a small black box that was on her desk, feeling giddy at the thought of giving it to Wednesday.

"Come on, join my lobby"

Enid says, her face lighting up as the game loads. This was probably one of Enid's favourite nights, besides when Wednesday lets her wash and braid her hair.
Friday nights was gaming night. The blonde would spend all night playing, her bubbly character making it easy to find friends online.

Her simple setup used to be in their dorm, she'd game with her headphones on while Wednesday wrote. But now the Academy had invested in multiple hang out areas, creating a more appropriate environment for such activities.

Ajax joins them mid game, Xavier offers a quick fist bump, his eyebrows furrowed together in frustration as Enid headshots him for the second time.

"Oh look! My friend here showed up! Where's yours?"

Xavier mocks, Enid rolls her eyes

"You're gonna swallow your tongue once she gets-"

"Her friend is right here"

Wednesday says as she takes the few steps down into the room, neon lights decorating it's walls along with different gaming consoles and arcade games.

Enid can't bring herself to look at Wednesday right away, her eyes stay on Xavier, relishing his stupid reaction. She then turns to Wednesday with a bright smile
