3rd Point Of View
"It's been over day, (Y/n)." Sukuna mumbled as he set a plate down on the nightstand by the bed, sitting beside his queen that was lying on her side, under the covers. (Y/n)'s eyes numbly stared ahead, her cheeks pink and glistening after the tears that she had shed. Sukuna softly laid a hand on her cheek, attempting to grasp her attention.
"You need to eat." Sukuna ushered, motioning over to the plate of food that he was determined to not let get wasted. He wasn't surprised by the fact that she refused to respond, her face void of emotion- but through her aura, Sukuna knew that inside she felt nothing but grief for what she has lost. She hadn't spoken since yesterday, since she'd found out her paintings had been stolen. She shut down after coming to terms with the fact that they were gone- that they'd been separated for the first time since they had been painted.
"It's becoming increasingly hard to stay patient when you will not speak to me. It is driving me crazy, little (L/n)." Sukuna told the girl as used his thumb to draw circles against her jaw. He sighed when she offered him no response, making him leaning back, looking towards the food as he weighed his options. Should he force feed her or just threaten her?"They can't be gone." The girl whispered, her eyes glistening with tears once again. Sukuna's eyes snapped back towards her with shock, surprised by her sudden ability to speak. The man really thought they'd spend the next two days in silence.
"If they're gone... then they'll become cursed spirits without me." (Y/n) whispered, her eyes slowly lifting to look at Sukuna, filled to the rim with fresh tears. "Jin will become human... He'll be all alone- he'll be confused and so scared, Sukuna!" At this point, the girl had begun to sob, her lips trembling."And the curses! They might not recognise eachother straight away! They might not understand that they're family! What if they hurt eachother?" (Y/n) sobbed, her voice cracking with disbelief and pure sadness, "They- they can't be gone... They need me." Sukuna sighed as he pulled the girl so that she was sitting up. He didn't need to do anymore than that because the girl had already pressed her face against his chest, crying profusely. A dark dangerous look overcame Sukuna's eyes, his red orbs turning black as anger swelled within him.
"I'll find them for you. I swear it." Sukuna swore, his face pressed into the locks of her hair.
"Jin- you have to find Jin first. He's the most vulnerable, he's just a human!" (Y/n) sobbed, making Sukuna nod. If that's what she wished, he'd do it.
"I will." Sukuna promised as (Y/n) trembled.
"You have to bring them all back to me." She cried.
"I will." Sukuna repeated with determined eyes as (Y/n) shakingly wrapped her arms around him."Do you promise?" She whispered, making Sukuna nod without a hint of hesitation.
"I swear it." Sukuna told her confidently. As his aura flashed green, confirming that he told nothing but truths, (Y/n) allowed darkness to take a hold of her. She hadn't slept in over twenty four hours, crying a hyperventilating. Now, hearing Sukuna's promise, she felt much more at ease and her body was finally able to allow itself to rest in the embrace of her lover, her head falling into the crook of his neck. Sukuna sighed with relief, seeing that she finally managed to fall asleep. The man then cradled her gently as he lowered himself into the bed with her against his chest, laying down so that the girl could sleep better. As he pulled her against him, adjusting his head against the pillow behind him, a certain white haired woman entered the room with her head bowed.
"My Lord." She announced gently, her voice low and soothing so that she wouldn't disturb (Y/n).
"Speak." Sukuna demanded, not even caring to lift his eyes to look at the lady.
"We found a body." Uraume told the man, piquing his interest, making his lift his head.
"A body?" He repeated with a raised brow.
"One of our own- a curse user, in fact. He was discarded to the side among the crops." Uraume informed.Sukuna's eyes narrowed at her words, his brows furrowing. If the body was discarded, that meant that somebody had something to hide that this curse user knew about- probably to do with the paintings.
"His neck had been snapped- seemingly attacked from behind." Uraume added softly.
"Do we know by whom?" Sukuna asked.
"There are no witnesses to the attack but other curse users have claimed that this particular man was not present in the throne room when the curse users were all presenting Lady (Y/n) with the ambassador Yanfei." Uraume said, making Sukuna hum in thought."Meaning that he likely snuck away before the ceremony." Sukuna pieced together.
"But we have found something on the man's body. It seems like a gem stone of some kind, but I, myself am unsure of what it could be for." Uraume admitted as she pulled a green stone out from the inside of her sleeve, before presenting it to Sukuna. Sukuna's brow raised as his eyes locked on the stone, recognising it instantly. He scoffed with a bitter smirk, shaking his head with disappointed."It seems he possessed the Kamo clan's jade seal." Sukuna told the white haired lady, confusing her.
"Jade seal?" Uraume echoed uncertainly.
"Every Kamo clan member posseses two kinds of Jade seals. One is red- which serves as identification. And the other is green, and it serves as a key to enter their clan's grounds." Sukuna explained.
"I don't understand. Why would our curse user possess something belonging to the Kamo clan?" Uraume asked with bafflement.
"Because he was their lackey- until he was betrayed and killed evidently." Sukuna mused."I must admit, Uraume, this news is disappointing. It means that there was a traitor amomg the curse users- hiding under my nose. And I had no idea about it." Sukuna muttered darkly, his red eyes filling with anger as Uraume bowed her head.
"What would you like me to do, my Lord?" She then asked, readying herself to take new orders.
"Hang his body by the entrance to the basement level where the curse users reside- as a reminder that even traitors can get betrayed." Sukuna ordered.
"Yes, my lord." Uraume nodded as she turned on her heel, preparing to leave. But before she could take a step, her curiosity stopped her."My lord." The woman then called out, making Sukuna raise his brow.
"The paintings... do you know who has took them?" Uraume asked the man curiously, turning her head around to face him. He tilted his head as he looked down at (Y/n), huffing with amusement.
"I'm confident that I know who stole them- especially since he has already expressed his interest in them. I understand why he's intrigued- the cursed energy they possess is incredible- even that wretched human version of me she's created." Sukuna began, "But I'm sure once this gets out, the Kamo clan won't be the only ones who want those paintings.""The emperor." Uraume guessed, making the man nod in agreement, sighing with exhaustion.
"That foolish old man has been getting on my nerves for years. I'm sure this incident will peak his interest in no time." Sukuna chuckled, rolling his eyes.
"There will be war." Uraume guessed- making Sukuna shake his head and say,"Not if I make good on my oath and find those paintings first."
