3rd Point Of View
Sukuna trudged through the halls of his temple, having come back from a four day trip through Japan. It reminded him of his youngest days, rampaging for the hell of it, wreaking havoc of villages that didn't deserve it. Only now that he was older, he done it more strategically- with a purpose in mind too. It's been a week since he began searching for the cursed paintings, and has yet to get a single lead on their whereabouts of the whereabouts of Noritishi Kamo.
Originally, his plan was to not show his face to (Y/n) until he'd brought back what was rightfully hers. But his stupid curse users apparently needed to rest, meaning that Sukuna would either have to stay with them as they rested or go back home to rest with his queen. But it was still disappointing- to show up bare handed after a week. He'd made a promise to her and now he was taking forever to fulfil it.
"Where's your queen?" Sukuna demanded to a nearby worker who'd been too busy mopping the floors to notice his arrival, jumping at the sound of his voice."My Lord! You've returned!" The man exclaimed as he dropped to his knees, making Sukuna sigh.
"Yes, yes- now answer ths question." Sukuna waved him off boredly, rolling his eyes with exhaustion.
"She's been occupying your private library, my lord." The servant replied, his eyes still cast low. Sukuna's attention was caught by his words, making the man look down at him with confusion.
"My library? Is she translating scrolls? She knows that I've given her a dedicated space to do that, no?" Sukuna asked with confusion, finding it odd that she'd be translating whilst feeling such grief in the first place."She's not amidst translations, my Lord." The servant told him cryptically, making Sukuna's brows furrow. Since when did his own staff not give him straight, immediate answers. Why was he still confused after already asking two whole questions?
"She is...reading, my lord." The man replied hesitantly, a tinge of hesitation that Sukuna didn't quite acknowledge immediately.
"Reading? A scroll from my mythology collection must have caught her eye." Sukuna mumbled as he began walking to his library, the servant unsure if he should be following behind him or not."I suppose I should be thankful that she moved on from that one story. She was quite stuck on it, she said 'it was almost as if it spoke to her'. What was it called again?" Sukuna asked, his monologue making the servant quickly catch up to walk behind him.
"The one time he cried, my Lord." The man chipped in, making Sukuna's head rear back with agreement.
"Yes, that was it! The one time he cried. I've never quite understood that story." Sukuna muttered before looking at the servant who was still following him, "And why are you following me? Don't you have something to do?"The servant flinched at Sukuna's blunt words, his legs immediately buckling as he halted his steps, watching with a gulp and Sukuna made his way to the north wing. Sukuna rolled his eyes at the servant's audacity as he pushes open the door to the north wing, only to pause at the fact that the door had shut behind him upon entry. The door was closed. Why was the door closed? (Y/n) hated being confined into a closed space. With furrowed brows, Sukuna made his way to the library only to narrow his eyes at the fact that the library doors were also closed.
Quietly, Sukuna opened the door- just enough for him to slip through without making a noise. He gently pushed it shut behind him, his eyes flicking around the room until they landed on (Y/n), sitting at the centre of the room with her back turned towards him. She had scrolls glittered across the floor, circling her as if she were part of some sort of ritual, all opened and facing her. Sukuna masked his cursed energy and presence as he took a few steps forward, close enough to see which scrolls the girl had frantically been reading. Anxiety and fear plummeted through him as he got closer, her aura affecting him more with ever step. She probably felt this way because of the closed doors, and get she put up with this feeling so that she could continue reading uninterrupted. This made Sukuna curious.
The king of curses peaked down at the scrolls on the floor, seeing that she had picked out all the ones that pertained to a human becoming a curse. Some parts were circled, something Sukuna done when he needed to retain information- particularly information that could help him. As his eyes wondered around from scroll to scroll, he finally realised what was going on- even more so when he heard (Y/n) sniffle.
"He's really trying to become a curse." (Y/n) whispered to herself, her voice trembling."I'm guessing it was Uraume who has told you." Sukuna muttered with a sigh, announcing his presence, making (Y/n) spin around with surprise. Tears welled in her eyes as she looked up at him, seeing that he was back after a week of continued absence. Betrayed swelled within her as he looked down at her, his lips pursed in understanding.
"How could you not tell me something like this?" (Y/n) exclaimed as she stood to her feet, taking a step back from Sukuna with disbelief as he sighed."I knew how you'd react, especially considering your hate for curses due to your past- and now with the paintings missing, there's never been a good time." Sukuna admitted to her, his aura flashing green.
"Were you ever going to tell me?" The girl asked, her brows furrowed, scared for Sukuna's answer, only to make Sukuna sigh. Did she really think that little of him? To keep something so important from her?
"Is that a joke?" Sukuna scoffed as he to a step closer to her, laying his hands on the girl's waist to pull her closer to him against her will. "I've kept many secrets from you, but in the end, I will always tell you the truth."(Y/n)'s brows furrowed distrustfully as she broke eyecontact, looking to the side with pursed lips. Sukuna bit the inside of his cheek as he grabbed onto the girl's chin, making her face him again.
"I only planned to keep you in the dark until my research was complete- until I'd found a way for the both of us to become curses." Sukuna admitted, making (Y/n) freeze."W-what?" The girl stammered out baffledly.
"Just think about it for a second. Imagine it- the both of us becoming curses, living forever." Sukuna told the girl softly, his hand travelling to her check.
"But why me also?" (Y/n) asked with surprise, gulping harshly- finding it hard to imagine herself as anything but a human being. Her? A curse?
"If I became a curse alone, you'd age and eventually die- and I'd live in an immortal hell for the rest of my life. Why would I want to walk down that path?" Sukuna asked, making the girl part her lips- wanting to say something but nothing would come out of her mouth."I..." (Y/n) trailed off, not knowing what to say.
"I know what you're thinking- and don't think of it as becoming one of those wretched, ugly fiends you see when it hits nightfall- think of it as having the opportunity to paint something new." Sukuna's comparison made (Y/n) look up at his eyes with curiousity, "Think of it as sculpting yourself to become your best final form." (Y/n) couldn't help but imagine it, the picture in her head admittedly not seeming too bad. Her eyes glistened as she thought it over. As an immortal, she'd be able to help women all around Japan- freeing them from their shackles put on them by evil men. She'd have all time I'm the world to turn monsters back into men- just like Yanfei."You'd be mine forever, little (L/n), and I'd be yours. Not even time could separate us." Sukuna continued, motivated by her silent to continue trying to convince her. But still, she didn't speak. Not even her aura could tell him what was going on in her mind.
"What are you thinking in that little head of yours?" Sukuna asked with a tilted head, tapping the girl's forehead softly, making her look at him with a serious expression, her eyes unsure.
"You won't give me an extra arm, will you?" The girl suddenly asked, "Your four arms are enough for the both of us, I'd like my two arms to stay the way they are."At this, Sukuna burst out in uncontrollable laughter, throwing his head back after hearing her words.
"Your won't get any extra limbs, I promise." Sukuna laughed, "And extra limbs aren't so bad. I mean, look at me and the things I can do with these hands?" Sukuna told the girl suggestively, a smirk at his lips as he pulled the girls hips into his. She giggled as her hands landed on his chest, nodding in agreement.
"That is true." She replied with a smile, making him chuckle as his fingers travelled lower with a raised brow, saying,"How about I show you?"
