Chapter Thirty-One

The lack of Law in this fanfic is criminal...

It had been a good 30 minutes since (Y/n) had entered the jungle, and so far, she didn't see anything interesting or new. Sure, there were maybe two plants she had never seen before, and she ended up digging out, but the rest looked like any other she would see at the market places in Alabasta or some books. She was disappointed, to say the least, so halfway through inspecting an area, she gave up and decided to walk a little further into the jungle. After all, Nami did give her an hour to herself. Humming (Y/n) finished drawing one of the new plants she found and then went on to pack up her things.

"This is a little disappointing, I won't lie. Wasn't Sky Island supposed to be an interesting, never before seen thing?" She said jokingly to herself.
"What do you think- Where did the spider go?"
(Y/n) looked around in worry, not finding the arachnid in the spot where she left it. But, eventually, she found the animal crawling up the tree.
"Did it find a home here?" She hummed in confusion. After a short while of observing the animal, (Y/n) saw something weird. From the safety of the branches, an identical spider crawled out, observing the spider she found on the ship.

'What is going on here?' (Y/n) felt uneasiness enter her system as she watched the two animals, then looked down at the ground where her things were.
'Maybe it's what Robin told me earlier. Maybe some animals are common both here and on the Grand Line. Besides, it's just a few spiders, plants, and fish. Maybe they originate from here and ended up on the Grand Line through some pirate ships who have returned. Or, they are from the Grand Line and got here thanks to the knock-up stream.'

Deciding to ignore whatever other thoughts she had on the matter, (Y/n) grabbed her backpack and made her way towards a different part of the jungle. Maybe she will have more luck somewhere else.
"Well, at least Nami and Sanji won't have to worry about the spider returning to the ship." She hummed to herself, wondering what the rest of the crew could be up to now.

While (Y/n) was exploring the jungle, the crew were having fun with the various dials Conis and Pagaya showed them. Chopper and Luffy found amusement in the recording dial, while Robin was inspecting the dials used as lamps in the house. Zoro was not as interested in those things and just ate some of the food Pagaya had given them.
'This is really delicious. I should save up some of it for (Y/n) when she comes back.' The swordsman thought as Sanji spoke up.

"This is weird, I can't see Nami or (Y/n) from up here." The blonde's words caused the rest to look at him.
"What do you mean?" Usopp asked as the cook pointed out of the window.
"I don't see or hear the waver anymore."
Coni let out a small gasp and looked back at her father, who frowned down at his hands.
"You don't think they are..."
"This isn't good. If they entered there, they are dead."

"What do you mean by that?! Hey! What do you mean?" Sanji was the first one to speak up, then Usopp and Robin followed.
"Dead?! Why would they be dead?"
"Is there something we should know?"
Conis and Pagaya looked at each other nervously, not saying anything for a while, which irritated Zoro.
"What are you two talking about?"
Pagaya gulped nervously, not knowing how to start the conversation, so the blonde girl decided to be the one to break the ice on this topic.

"Well... Near our island is a very unique one. It's made out of solid ground, with trees like the ones you can find on the islands in the Blue seas. It's a sacred place that none of us can enter." Conis started explaining, which piqued Luffy's interest.
"You can't enter it? Why? And why is it sacred?"

"That's where God Enel lives. We call that island Skypia. Nobody is allowed to enter that island just like that. Whoever does it is provoking Enel's wrath and will get killed."
The group looked at the two angels in shock before they turned their attention towards each other.
"You don't think they..." Chopper spoke up nervously, earning a head shake from Robin.
"There is no way. Maybe they went to explore some other part. They aren't there."
