Chapter Twenty-Two

"Hmmm..." (Y/n) hummed as she walked away from the commotion. She could feel a small migrane hitting her, and she just wanted some peace and quiet.
'Sky island... I can't believe we actually came across that map...' She thought, glancing at the map that Luffy found among the corpses earlier.
'I really wanted that place to be real. Maybe I can find some new plants that will help me in my research.' (Y/n) thought as she left the deck and went to Chopper's office where she left her documentation.
"Come to think of it. Now that I have left Alabasta, I can look for medicine from other places, plants... I could maybe advance my poisons as well." She mumbled as she read through her documents.

"I really need to pick up on my work. I put this to the side for the past 5 months."
"I was wondering where you went. Not interested in seeing the ship being pulled up?" (Y/n) looked away from her papers and to where Robin was, giving her a lazy smile.
"No, not my cup of tea, I guess." She shrugged her shoulders as Robin walked over to where (Y/n) was.
"Are those the research papers I heard of? Can I read through one of them?"
(Y/n)'s eyes widened, and she quickly snatched the paper Robin was about to take. The older one looked at her in confusion as she gave off a nervous chuckle.
"I... it's just that I promised myself that I won't let anyone else see these before I am not finished. Sorry, but I can't let you read through them yet." (Y/n) said apologetically as she started packing the papers away.
"I understand. there's no need to apologize." Robin said softly.
"Aside from that being the work your grandpa started, why is it so important to you?" (Y/n) looked up at Robin, thinking for a minute.

"Well, the other reason is a lot more selfish, but I want to take my revenge on the World government this way. I want them to be exposed as the scum they are. After all, they took my grandfather from me. I will never forgive them for it." She explained as she got up from the ground, Robin only raising an eyebrow at her.
"So it is true that he was killed by the Government... Do you know who it was? An agent?" Robing asked further as (Y/n) leaned back against the desk.
"No, it was actually a member of the Marine. Although I never found out what his name is, I am dling my absolute best to figure it out. I just wish that I had something to go off on.." (Y/n) was deep in her own world to notice the way Robin's eyes widened in shock as she revealed that part. She didn't expect someone like a Navy member to be sent out to this mission. If anything, she expected someone from a secret agency to do that.

"How are you so sure it was someone from the Marine?" (Y/n) looked over at Robin.
"I was once snooping around the palace back in Alabasta and heard the officers talk about my grandfather's death. Granted, they never said his name, but his description was enough for me to know it is about my grandfather. I just wish I wasn't in such shock back then and would have just asked." Robin silently kept on listening to her explanation, nodding her head once in a while.
"Well, now you have the chance to find out. Now that you are on the ocean, you have all the freedom to explore and research."
"Yeah, I guess you are right-" Before (Y/n) could finish her sentence, a yell from outside caught her and Robin off guard.

"Luffy, are you alright?!" Nami's voice was heard as they both got out of the infirmary, only to find the captain laying motionless on the ground.
"What happened here?! Is he alive?!" (Y/n) asked in worry as both her and Robin ran over to them.
"Yeah, he is fine. He just passed out a little." Zoro explained as him and Sanji put the sacks on the deck.
"Passed out a little?! How are you so nonchalant?" (Y/n) asked in surprise as she crouched down to inspect him, not noticing the giant turtle or the glares the group was sending Luffy.
'Lucky bastard.' Zoro thought as he watched the girl gently poking Luffy's face as Chopper came to check on him.
'Wish that was me. Maybe it's because he is the captain that she is so attentive to him.' Usopp thought as jealousy bubbled up inside of him.

"He will be fine. Now get off of the ground, you will get cold." Nami said as her and Sanji pulled the girl up.
"I am fine, don't worry about me."
"You are such an angel with how you worry about everyone. It makes you even more of an angel." Sanji swooned as he kissed her knuckles, to which (Y/n) held herself back from sighing in annoyance.
"Not really, Sanji. By the way, did you guys find anything down there?" (Y/n) asked in genuine curiosity as Zoro spoke up.
"Yeah, we found-"
"Oh! Thank God you all are alive!" Usopp exclaimed as he sobbed while hugging (Y/n) around her shoulders.
"But, we should really get away from this turtle!!"
'Turtle?' (Y/n) raised an eyebrow and looked around only to freeze up in her spot as she noticed the giant animal.
'How did I not see this earlier?'
