Chapter Seventy-Two

Last night I saw a few drawings of Law as a priest and as Anubis, and let's just say... I was more than feral...

It had been two days since the pirates and Franky family got away from Enies Lobby, and although the news of the once indestructible island haven't hit the world stage yet, (Y/n) could already guess that people have heard some rumors, if she was to judge the reaction of some people when she would pass by. The crew didn't recover completely from everything that had happened, but everyone was starting to move on. Iceburg and Franky, along with their men, told them they were already planning and working on building them a new ship, much to everyone's excitement and relief. Usopp had been missing for the past two days, (Y/n) had no clue where he went to, she did have some suspicions, though, but for now, she just wanted to clear her mind.

The recent revelation of her parents being dead and not alive somewhere in the New World, along with Pell's betrayal, left her heartbroken. To her surprise, though, anger wasn't present when she would think of Pell and what he had done, just pure disappointment and exhaustion. (Y/n) herself wasn't sure why that was, considering she heard and read stories about people getting angry to the point of hurting the person they once loved because they betrayed them, but she didn't.

'Am I sick? Should I go and talk to Chopper? Maybe there is a medication that might help me?'
The girl thought as she stared up at the moon while sitting on a bench. The night was calm and peaceful. Not many people were outside at this time, so she decided to use that time to her advantage and clear her brain. The Straw Hats were left at the headquarters of Galley-La, all asleep and safe in their beds.
'What am I even supposed to tell Chopper? Hey, I don't feel like killing the guy who betrayed me. Can you do something? That would leave my poor baby so confused and scared!'

(Y/n) quietly groaned and ran her hands through her hair, wanting for this emptiness she was feeling to disappear.
'Just move on! He is just a guy who you never really knew! Move on, there are other things in life!' She told herself, focusing her gaze on the water that was flowing through the canal.
"Butterfly sis! Why are you out here so late?"
(Y/n) looked over in surprise before smiling warmly at Chimnie and Gombe.

"Hey, you two, I could ask you the same question! Why are you two out here so late and alone at that? It can be dangerous for little girls, you know?"
While she was ruffling Chimnie's hair, the younger girl pointed at Kokoro's approaching figure.
"Grandma took us out for some late night snacks! Do you want to try some?"
(Y/n)'s heart melted a little as the younger girl took out a chocolate bar out of her pocket before offering it to her.

"Thank you, Chimnie, but I am fine. It's yours, you eat it."
"It's fine. She already had enough sweets for the week, anyway. Take it." Kokoro laughed as she was next to her on the bench. The girl blinked up at the woman before smiling down at Chimnie and taking the bar.
"Thank you."
The blonde girl grinned and nodded before running after Gombe to catch him.

"And, how have you been feeling?"
(Y/n) looked up at the woman before unwrapping the chocolate bar.
"Good. My wounds recover quicker thanks to my devil fruit powers. By tomorrow, I will be as good as new. Want some?"
The woman shook her head at the chocolate and took a gulp of her drink.
"No need! I have my candy!"
(Y/n) laughed at Kokoro's words before eating the sweet treat in a comfortable silence.

"By the way, I didn't ask about your wounds, but more about your emotions. You went through quite a rolleroaster of emotions in the past few days. You can tell me? I do have some wisdom in me left."
(Y/n) silently stared at the water while munching on her food for a bit before eventually speaking up.
"I am doing alright, I am sad about my parents being dead, and I am still angry about it. But, I am doing better since I did avenge them in some way. It will get better over time."
