A normal day with the Straw Hats:

Sanji: Why is Yn begging on her knees for Chopper's forgiveness?
Zoro: Oh, that? She fell asleep on one of the reindeer we came across on a winter island. She has been apologizing the whole morning.
Sanji:... How can I become a reindeer?
Zoro: You are desperate.
Sanji: Do you think that I don't know that?!

'I should have known that they would be stubborn and not listen to me. If only I had talked to her first, maybe she would have been able to talk Luffy and the others out of this. But, I highly doubt it. Both her and Luffy are as stubborn as mules.' Robin thought to herself as she stared back at the Straw Hats, who were eagerly awaiting her answer.

Her eyes then focused on Luffy and (Y/n), who held their unwavering looks that had hints of encouragement in them.
'(Y/n)... I didn't think you would care much about me when I first joined the crew. And now, here you are, doing the same thing you did that night...'

🦋Months prior to the Straw Hats coming to Alabasta🦋
The familiar cold air of the Alabasta night hit Robin as she stared down at (Y/n), who was busy eating some food the woman had given her once they were far enough from the Baroque Works headquarters. The woman stared at her for a bit, her focus switching between her eyes and the wounds on her face. An odd warmth spread through her body the more she looked at her, and she had to look away before speaking up.

"Why did you refuse Sir Crocodile's offer?"
"What?"
(Y/n) stopped eating for a moment and looked up at Robin.
"Why would I agree to that lunatic's offer?"
"Lunatic or not, Sir Crocodile can give you a lot more opportunities to flourish your skills. Why are you so stubborn and saying no? He would have killed you if I hadn't stepped in."
Robin felt a weird sense of sadness come over her at the thought of the girl dying. She did read up a lot on her, after all, and having someone as talented and smart as her die would have been tragic.

'She is also pretty cute- Get it together!' Robin scolded herself, watching as (Y/n) took another bite before speaking.
"I don't care what that rat has to offer, I will never join him or this criminal organization you two have going on. My loyalty lies with Alabasta and its royal family. They took me in after I had nobody left."
The woman stared at her silently, feeling a small pang in her chest when she heard the last sentence.
'So, just as I had found out earlier, she is similar to me. Except, she had more luck with escaping the World Government...'

"But, I don't understand you, Nico Robin. Why did you join Baroque Works? You don't look thrilled to be here, or anywhere near Crocodile, to be honest."
(Y/n) finished with her food and got up from the ground. Her gaze was still fixated on Robin, who couldn't help but chuckle a little.
"So, you found out my real name?"
"I was curious." (Y/n) shrugged as the woman laughed louder now.

"You are amusing, I won't lie. The two of us aren't that much different from each other, you know. Both are without our family on this vast sea. Without our home islands to return to. You can claim that Alabasta is your real home, but I see the look of longing in your eyes. A look that practically begs to be accepted. To be among people who are like you." Robin quickly added in when she noticed (Y/n) attempting to protest her words.

"You are scared to be yourself, aren't you? A devil fruit user among people who rarelypossesss those. Someone who has devoted her entire life experimenting and making lethal substances and is only surrounded by people who look at you oddly when you talk about them. Even your own brother, who you so dearly love and refuse to rat out calls you weird sometimes, isn't that-"

"Ok, that's enough! Don't bring Koza into this! He is the nicest guy I ever met. Don't bring him into this!" (Y/n) sent the woman a death glare, and Robin, in return, just mockingly smiled at her.
"And you never answered my question. Why are you doing all of this?"
