The car rolled into the parking spot. Sophie gathered her things out of the trunk to start bringing it to the campsite. Her friends followed in suit.

Their camp was right by the beach. The clearing was a little ways into the wooded clearing just before the sand dunes. That way, they wouldn't get soaked by the tide or waves.

She started to get the tent set up that she had brought with her. Keefe joined her, helping get it set up. They spread out their sleeping bags on the ground of the tent.

When everyone got the tents set up, they took turns using the bathroom that was at the campsite to change into swimwear.

They spent no time dilly dallying and sped off to the beach. Dex reached the water first,  throwing his boogy board into the water and riding on top of it. Biana raced after him on her own. Two seconds later, a wave k owned her backward into the sea.

Keefe dived in next, popping out of the water several feet deeper. Sophie carefully waded into the water. She dug her feet into the sand when a wave came and knocked into her. The water was quite choppy.

She jerked her head around when someone splashed her from behind. It was Linh. Sophie splashed her before dunking into the water to hide from the attack.

A few hours of rough housing went by. The boys had gone to play volleyball in the sand. Biana had gone to sunbathe. The only ones left in the water were Sophie, Linh, and Marella.

But, for some reason, Sophie was starting to get a dizzy feeling. Why was-

Oh no.

Her vision was quickly dimming around the edges. She scrambled to get out of the water, but it was fighting against her. Just when she was able to get to shore before collapsing, a wave knocked her down.

Sophie woke up sputtering on water. She was being drug against something. Eventually, it stopped, and she was held up to a warm body.

She pried her eyes open and squinted in the light. Her head was pounding. Her lungs burned. She let out a cough, water spraying.

She looked up to find that the one holding her was Keefe. Sophie nuzzled her head into his tank top with a whimper.

"I've got you, Foster," he soothed. "You're ok."

His other arm slipped under her knees. He picked her, and they trotted across the hot sand.

Keefe gently placed her on a towel under the shade. Sophie could vaguely hear him explaining to Biana what had happened. He layed down beside her, brushing the hair from her face.

"You can go and play, y'know?" She informed him.

He kissed the bridge of her nose. "I know. But I just wanted to spend some time with you."

His smile that he gave her would aways be Sophie's favorite sight. She resigned to letting him hold her in his arms.
