Chapter 74: Dreamland Resort
It seemed as though Yu Zhao and Yu Yangxu had long anticipated this scene, as neither of them looked particularly surprised.
Yu Yangxu sneered, "Can't hold back anymore?"
Yu Yangxu had already noticed that black mist had been lingering around Mu Sheng for some time, but it hadn't made any move to harm him.
No matter how you looked at it, its intentions were clearly suspicious.
The shards of shattered glass sliced through the air, producing a whistling sound. Each sharp piece seemed to hit an invisible wall just before reaching Yu Yangxu, who stood at the front, even emitting strange clinking noises upon impact.
Finally, they clattered to the ground with a crisp "crash."
But Yu Yangxu's brow remained furrowed, tightening even more—because it wasn't just the shards of glass coming into the room. The black mist had also taken advantage of the situation.
Mu Sheng saw that the eerie black mist appeared to possess a certain intelligence. While Yu Yangxu's attention was focused on the window, it silently bypassed him, approaching both him and Yu Zhao from the sides.
Along with it came shards of glass sharp enough to be used as weapons.
Yu Zhao's expression remained unchanged, as this level of attack was not enough to harm him. What worried him was something else entirely.
The black mist, carrying with it a growing intensity, edged closer and closer. In the young man's crystal-clear eyes, the dangerous, fragmented glimmers reflected within them grew ever larger.
The strands of hair on Mu Sheng's forehead gently fluttered in the breeze, revealing his smooth, fair forehead and delicate brows and eyes.
He was still only speculating about the origins of the black mist and had yet to figure out its intentions. Even though Yu Zhao was standing beside him, Mu Sheng remained cautious, ready to defend against any potential attack.
The black mist seemed to "sense" Mu Sheng's wariness, retreating slightly, almost imperceptibly.
Yu Zhao, standing closest to the mist, could feel the change most acutely. He noticed the black mist pause momentarily, and its mood even seemed somewhat deflated. The excitement it had felt at successfully deceiving Yu Yangxu diminished significantly.
Despite this, all the attacks remained within Yu Zhao's control. The mist was clearly here to cause him trouble and was so precisely managed that none of its effects reached Mu Sheng.
However, this unexpected turn of events made Mu Sheng keenly aware that Yu Yangxu and Yu Zhao seemed to share some kind of connection with the black mist. It was as if they understood each other's thoughts—not from familiarity or mutual understanding, but from a kind of synchronization.
Mu Sheng observed closely. Before the black mist outside the window made any move to attack, Yu Yangxu and Yu Zhao had already taken defensive actions. And when part of the mist slipped past Yu Yangxu, Yu Zhao responded in advance. There was no shock or surprise on Yu Yangxu's face, only a look of gritted frustration at being toyed with.
More importantly, even though Mu Sheng was already trapped like a bird in a cage, Yu Zhao and Yu Yangxu could have taken action against him at any time. Yet, though they concealed it, Mu Sheng still sensed a hint of urgency in their behavior.
It was as if they knew the black mist was coming to attack but were hesitant to harm Mu Sheng directly. In the end, they were a moment too late.
The black mist, having failed in its initial strike, didn't leave. It hovered in the room, clearly planning its next attack.
