Chapter 32: The Rules of the Campus

Mu Sheng looked at the blank card in his hand, his first reaction being:

This is Jian Li's conspiracy.

In the dream, when the door opened, Jian Li was also present.

If that Jian Li was indeed the real student council president, he certainly wouldn't have pointed out the correct location.

But Mu Sheng quickly overturned this assumption.

Jian Li's demeanor clearly indicated that he was unaware that he already knew the location of the archive room and the card.

The information from the clue mission is crucial for NPCs in the instance, and Jian Li's character wouldn't take such risks.

If the student council knew about this, with enough preparation, Mu Sheng would never have been able to obtain this card.

Given Jian Li's demonstrated strength, he could easily wait for a target in the archive room.

The one in the "dream" was not the real Jian Li.

At least not entirely; Jian Li himself might not even be aware of this "dream's" existence.

Mu Sheng speculated that this might be a special hint given to him as a clue NPC in this instance.

No wonder players were always talking about searching for a clue NPC in the instance, whether they were special NPCs or players.

These clues were very valuable.

Mu Sheng quietly perked up his ears, gauging the direction of the footsteps before moving in the opposite direction.

He still held that blank card in his hand.

There must be a clue about the final rule on it.

He just needed more information to make a final judgment.

The pursuer's footsteps were slow and steady, as if they were already certain of Mu Sheng's location, coming straight toward him.

Mu Sheng listened carefully and, instead of rushing, moved more cautiously and quietly.

He wouldn't fall for that trick.

This was clearly Jian Li's psychological tactic.

The footsteps seemed to echo in his ears, yet after a while, the sound remained the same.

Logically, as the distance increased and decreased, the volume of the footsteps should change.

Mu Sheng couldn't figure out how Jian Li managed that, but he undoubtedly wanted to shake his confidence, hoping Mu Sheng to make a mistake while trying to escape, causing some commotion.

The more panicked he became and the faster he moved, the more dangerous it would be.

Understanding this, Mu Sheng quietly evaded while thinking about the situation with the players over there.

Jian Li arrived quicker than he had anticipated,

but according to the livestream on the screen, there weren't many casualties on the players' side; they hadn't been completely wiped out.

Shen Fengyu and Yan Jiaosheng were still full of energy.

However, Jian Li had too many puppets, and with their strength, there was no one who could stop him when he was determined to leave.

On the bright side, at least they had managed to hold off all the puppets,

so Mu Sheng was not completely surrounded.
