It's New Year's Eve and I've been looking forward to this day since we got back. When we got back, Kira and I crashed immediately we got back to her house. We slept the entire next day too.

But once we woke up the day after, I had to go back to my place. I didn't want to leave but Kira said we'd be seeing each other just the next day—today.

When I got home, Ava was already there and the first thing she did was hug me. Tightly. Then we unpacked together and I told her everything.

From seeing my best friends at the event and even Christmas when Kira surprised me by going to Valentina and Letty's house. It was quite literally the perfect holiday away.

I'm not sure much can beat this one.

The same night I got back to our place, I also got a call from Letty and she told me she and Val were coming in for New Year's Eve. I was extremely excited. Then Letty said Ava should come and she wasted no time in saying yes.

Somehow, that night, Ava, me, and Letty spent the entire night on FaceTime. A part of me felt so happy that my two friends from either side of where I've been were getting along.

It really meant a lot.

I also called Kira to make sure it was okay with her for them to come to spend New Year's Eve with us. She said and told me that even Stella and Lottie were coming.

That made me nervous a little, Stella is a scary person—she's kind but scary. Lottie is more of a sweetheart, she was fun to hang out with at the event and Christmas so that set my nerves at ease for a little while.

But today's the day and my best friends arrived yesterday evening so I hope they're sleeping well today before we meet them at Kira's place so we can all go to her boat.

I was surprised she had a boat. I didn't even know. But I guess that's the good thing about us, I learn more about her the more I go along.

Ava and I have a few hours to kill before we do anything. Kira sent me a text earlier telling me she was busy setting up for later and was going to be bad with replies so I didn't mind that she didn't answer right away like normal.

We invited Ivan over for a while so we could all catch up from our holiday, even though Ava heard most of what I had to say, Ivan hadn't so we were going to fill him in on everything for the next few hours.

"You both had really exciting breaks," Ivan said as he sat on our couch. "At least more exciting than mine."

Ava and I both smiled at him. "Plans for this evening?" Ava asked.

"I um...actually have a date for tonight, we're going to see the fireworks together," Ivan said.

Ava and I both dropped our jaws. Ivan's never really had a date when he's been with us, failed situationships sure, three to be exact—one fire each month—but a date? This is new.

"With who? Where are you going?" Ava asked.

"What's her name?" I asked excitedly.

"His name is Andre and we're going to a party then the fireworks." He said with a shy smile.

Ava and I only smiled brightly at him before we hugged him. "Okay, after tonight, we want full details at brunch okay? First brunch of the new year." Ava said.

"Agreed! A full run down and all." I smiled.

"I have questions?" Ava said

"Go,"

"How old? What's his major? Is he cute? Where'd you meet? And when are we meeting him?" She asked all in one breath. Ivan and I both laughed.

Ava seemed more excited than him. She's often like that. She's the kind of friend who gets more excited for you than for anyone else, if you get a good grade there's a reason to celebrate even if she gets lower, had a hard day? She's grabbing ice cream and comfort things for you. It's all the things that make her an incredible friend.
