One more class until my Valentine's Day weekend actually begins. And I'm also thankful that this class happens to be my girlfriend's class and I have a TA session with her just after this finishes.
It's been a few weeks since the dean pulled Kira out and it's been quiet ever since. No trouble on either end and I'm thankful for that.
"Hey, um, do you have any idea what Ava's doing tonight?" Felix asked me quietly as we continued working like we'd been told.
"No, I don't actually, why?" I said as I continued to work.
"I wanted to see if I could maybe...take her out on a date—as friends." He said.
"Ivan and I already did that," I said bluntly. "She's good until after next weekend."
"I know but I still wanna take her out maybe, I feel bad for everything and she needs to know I still love her."
"Write her a card or something," I shrugged. "When I tell you she's moving on, she really is. And maybe you should too." I finally looked up at him.
His eyes were filled with some sort of hope but the minute I looked into them, it's like it l disappeared.
I know he still likes Ava but she is far past liking him. She had to watch him go to through multiple women a week and drink so much it hurt him.
She's not ready to go back to a person like that and I don't blame her. Plus, she blushes every time Nadia's name is even brought up in conversation.
"Oh," He muttered.
"Yeah..." I trailed off.
"I mean we were together for four years and Valentine's Day was always our thing," He said.
"Yeah but you kind of fucked up Felix by not talking about whatever it is. That's on you, she's moving on and is happy, you should be too but not at her expense. Maybe let this year go," I said to him.
I know what I said was probably way too mean or harsh but he needed to hear it. Especially if there's nothing to hold onto for him and Ava. It's hard but he needed to hear it.
"Yeah maybe you're right," He sighed and turned back to face the front.
I continued working until we got to leave.
I took a minute before leaving so I could just spend a couple extra minutes looking at my gorgeous girlfriend.
She sent me a subtle enough smile for my cheeks to start burning pink. I left and walked to the office hallway to wait for my TA session.
This would be our first one in a while, long enough to keep the dean off our backs anyways.
I heard her heels clicking against the floors in the hallway and the simple sound alone—knowing it was her—made butterflies appear in my stomach.
She didn't glance at me properly at first and just unlocked her door, letting me go in. Once we were in she closed the door and finally glanced at me.
Her hazel eyes set on mine and I felt the butterflies swarm my stomach. "Hi bambina," she smiled and wrapped her arms around me.
I wrapped mine around her neck and kissed her softly. Her hands pulled me closer as she kissed me back, slow and tender. Her hands kneaded my sides softly as we kissed up against her door.
After a moment, I pulled back from the kiss and looked into her eyes. Unlike in class when they were hard and cold, now they were soft and sort of shined in a different kind of way.
"Hi pretty," I smiled at her. "I've missed these little office moments." I said.
"Me too bella," she smiled. "but we do have work to do," she said and unwrapped her hands from me.
