Kira's POV

"Come here," Birdie called from my couch.

Last night I asked her to be my girlfriend. I wanted it to be perfect, but I fucked up the cheesecake and didn't have any white wine and by the time I realised she was at my door.

When she showed up at my door, I took a moment to really take her in. She was gorgeous and even more so when she laid in my arms last night.

It's safe to say the last few hours together with her have been incredible. We made breakfast together this morning then I offered to drive her back but she didn't want to leave so somehow she roped me into making soft pumpkin cookies and now we're in the living room watching whatever we can find together.

"You wanted the fireplace on bella," I smiled at my girlfriend.

"Yeah, 'cause I'm cold." She pouted while I just chuckled at her and continued to light my fireplace.

Once it was going I went back to the couch and she crept back into my arms while we watched Dynasty.

I offered for us to watch Lucifer but she seemed too against the idea so we settled for middle ground and decided to watch Dynasty instead.

"I wanna live a Carrington lifestyle." She said.

"A messed up family and chaos?"

"To be filthy rich that I have enough to just blow some of it on auctions for things that cost half the price of that I spend." She said. "The messed up family and chaos is just a bonus."

I chuckled at her words for a moment while we continued to watch the show together. Only ten minutes passed us before my doorbell rang.

"I'll be back bella," I kissed her fleetingly and got up off the couch.

It was unexpected because I wasn't expecting anyone at all. Nor a package of anything. I wanted today to just be for me and Birdie.

I opened my door to see my best friend standing there with a smile on her face. "Good you're home," she said and walked in.

"Hi to you too Nadia," I said and shut the door.

"I think it's bad I'm a little scared." She said as she trailed through my house to my kitchen. "I need a minute to talk, and wine."

"It's only three in the afternoon," I said.

"You are one to turn down wine," she grabbed two glasses and I shook my head with a smile. "Plus it has to be five somewhere—six on the East Coast." She said.

"Fair point," I said and handed her the bottle of red wine I had left over from last night.

"I take it she said," Nadia said with a smirk.

"Maybe,"

"You still have wine left, you would've drunk it all if she didn't." She chuckled.

"She's in the living room and if you must know she did say yes," I said.

"Good, we'll go there then," Nadia said.

I sighed and followed her holding an extra glass and the bottle of wine in my hands just in case Birdie wanted some. "You're a piece of work and a pain in my ass."

"I'm your best friend, it's my job." She smiled.

We walked to the living room and Birdie sprung up to sit straight up. I could tell she was taken by Nadia's sudden appearance. "Hey," she said cautiously.

"Hi Birdie, how are you?" She asked.

"I'm good thanks," my girlfriend responded while I sat down next to her again.
