"Are you sure they're okay with me coming?" I asked Ella once more as we stood outside her friend, Ava's place.

"Yes, relax, you're all good B. They're gonna love you." She smiled and I nodded.

Ella opened the door with ease and we walked in. "Ella!" Two girls and a guy said as we walked in.

"Hi guys," Ella smiled at everyone. "This is my roommate, Birdie." She introduced me. "B this is Ava, Livia and Felix," she pointed them all out individually.

"Hey guys," I said with a smile.

They all welcomed me which was a nice feeling and Ava looped her arm with mine. "Girl I have to know your curly hair routine, I'm getting tired of straightening mine." She said with a smile.

"Ava baby, let the girl settle in first." Felix said to her. "I'm sorry Birdie, don't mind my girlfriend. I'm Felix." He smiled.

He's quite tall with get black hair and dimples in his smile. His eyes were a chocolate brown and even if his dark hair sat in a jagged state on his head, it looked good.

"Nice to meet you." I said with a smile.

"We made pasta and Felix is driving so he's not drinking," Livia said with a smile. "do you drink Birdie?" She asked me.

"Yes I do," I said clasping my hands together as Ava stood next to me.

"Good because kitchen shots are a must before we leave." Ava said just as two bowls of pesto pasta slid our way across the counter.

"You don't have to worry—Livia's a good cook." Ella said reassuring me before I took my first bite.

It was good, extremely good. The flavour was rich and definitely present without you having to search for it in the food.

It's been a good minute since I've had pesto pasta that actually tasted good. Since I was home.

"Ivan's here," Livia smiled widely as another boy walked through the door.

He had scruffy brown hair that was sort of unevenly layered. An upturned nose and a small smile on his lips. His eyes were hazel yet they held a little glow to them.

He was cute.

"Hi Livy," he said as he walked up to hug her. "Hi," he said to me with a smile on his lips.

"Oh this is Birdie, Ella's new roommate." Livia explained.

I swallowed the bite of food I had in my mouth and smiled back at him. "Hi," I said softly.

"Nice to meet you Birdie, I'm Ivan," he introduced himself with a smile.

"Nice to meet you Ivan," I said.

He walks around the countertop and gave me a hug. Not a side hug like I'd expect but a proper hug, he smelled good too, he had a musky scent. It wasn't overbearing like most male colognes, it was subtle but pungent.

He smelled so good and the hug was warm—I'd started to tint a little.

I pulled back from the hug feeling my cheeks warm up slowly and because I didn't want it to be obvious, I picked up my cup of water and drank some.

"I brought alcohol like always. Just the simple stuff like vodka, tequila, so on. If I'd known someone new was here, I would've asked for preferences." He said this time turning to me.

"No-no, it's okay, the options were good." I reassured him as he walked around to grab shot glasses.

"In that case," he said, setting down the glasses. "Let's drink!" He said a little louder causing almost everyone to burst out in cheers.
