Kira's POV

It's been a few days since Birdie and I had a talk. I finally feel like a weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

It was fulfilling but I hated that I asked her over and over again to explain it to me but it felt like I was going insane and thought it was all in my head again. I hated that I felt like that.

But her explaining it all helped me realise that it was real and she had her reasons. A part of me felt good to be open and vulnerable with her.

I'll admit, I wasn't sure if I should be open or not but I can't preach and not practice it, I had to practice what I preach.

I was still worried she'd use it against me in one way or the next down the line with us. But I took a leap of faith and trusted her.

It's been a few days now and things are somewhat back to normal. I say somewhat because it doesn't feel like it did before, it feels better than before.

More wholesome I guess you could say, like we'd become closer to each other. My heart fluttered again just thinking about her in the moment.

I didn't let it show.

I'm sitting around with Sasha and Nadia at Nadia's house for the first time since she's moved. It's her dream home.

Her new house is nicer than her old one. It's a modern, luxury house with a sleek, minimalistic design. It has larger features than her last one, floor-to-ceiling glass windows that offer panoramic views that allow natural light to flood in to the inside.

The exterior is dominated by clean lines and stone features, giving it a sophisticated yet organic look on the inside it has a more aesthetic look.

Out in the front there's a grand, wide staircase with integrated lighting that leads to the upper level, that enhances the sleek modern look of the house. Glass railings add to the open, airy look while maintaining style.

As gorgeous as it was during the day, I'd have to say at night it looks even better.

In the evening, the soft, ambient lighting throughout the home and stairs adds warmth and elegance, highlighting the more stone like features.

It's a gorgeous house and I'm really happy she could finally get her dream home—like she always wanted too.

"So how are things with you and...Birdie? Her name was?" Nadia asked.

"Yeah you seem...happier now. What's up with her?" Sasha asked as she leaned back in her chair a little more and sipped on her wine.

I rolled my eyes a little at them. "Things are good now, finally." I said and a small smile tugged on my lips. "We're finding a new balance now I guess." I said.

"A new balance, better sex—all the same," Sasha snickered and I rolled my eyes.

"Sasha you can't say that!" Nadia said in my defence. "But it's true Ki, you do look happier."

I shuffled in my seat with a smile. "I mean yeah I am, she's the first girl since Lucy who...makes me feel good again, I guess."

"You guess?" They both said at the same time. "I mean I guess a lot of things, most days I'm guessing Skye's bedtime and what days Ren has swimming practice but that's just me." Sasha said.

"Okay I don't guess," I said and downed the rest of my wine. "She's the first girl who's made me feel different in almost two years. She's gentle and softhearted with many things—clumsy even if she doesn't notice it sometimes." I said and couldn't hold back the small smile I held on my lips as I spoke even more.
