I placed my head against Kira's shoulder and she chuckled as she held me close. "That's embarrassing, very embarrassing." I sighed.

"Why embarrassing?" Kira asked.

"Your grandmother caught us making out in her field."

"That was nothing," she said with a smile as she grabbed my hand and we started walking up towards the house. "She's seen worse out here." Kira said and I chuckled.

"Birdie will you please help me carry out all these things, Kira go grab some glasses from the other room please," Julia said.

"I can help you nonna and—"

"Piccola, go grab the glasses. Birdie will stay here." She said sternly. "I don't like to repeat myself,"

A smile spread across my lips as I noticed the familiarity of the words. Clearly my girlfriend was exactly like her grandmother. Almost too similar in demeanour, it was very obvious too.

My girlfriend just sighed, pressed a kiss to my cheek and left.

"Birdie, please hold this for me bella," she said asking me to hold a dish of her.

I held my hands out and I held it as she continued to place food inside of it. "You like ravioli, don't you?"

"I do, it's my favourite kind of pasta." I smiled.

"Kira's is tortellini, when she was little it's all she'd eat here at during the summer, she's all grown up and has still enjoys it." Julia smiled.

"I noticed that earlier at lunch," I smiled softly.

"You notice the little things about her?" She questioned.

"I do, most of the time at least," I smiled. "Her dimples are my favourite, she hates them but it's okay because I love them enough for them both of us," I shrugged.

"That's important, loving for two," she said and took the dish from me before leaning her hip against the counter top.

Suddenly I felt very nervous. Her arms were folded and she had a stern look on her face. One similar to Kira's, intimidating yet somewhat neutral once you see it enough times.

"How so?" I asked nervously.

"Loving for two is important because sometimes relationships get hard, you get tested and maybe the other person need a little extra love but that doesn't mean love entirely for two people, just go the little extra mile every now and again." She spoke.

"When Kira was younger, she had this girlfriend, they got engaged too but I told her not to get married, her fiancée was bad news and Kira, she was loving for two entirely." Julia spoke.

"She didn't listen to me at first, the lovesick stages catching up with her, soon enough it clicked. She broke away but she was broken for a long time."

"I'd call her but she was curt and distant, she'd become a shell of her former self. Kira lost herself in loving another person too much. The wrong person," Julia said and I listened intently.

There was something she was getting at but I wasn't quite understanding what exactly it was.

"Ma, in the last three days, I've seen her smile more than I have in the last five years. It's been...refreshing to see piccola smile so much now." She smiled to herself. "You love enough for two, gave her what she was missing." She said.
(Translation: But,)

"You do love her right?" She asked.

"More than you know, she's everything and more to me," I felt my cheeks blush. "She's seen my good and bad and still stayed. That alone made me love her more than I can describe." I said softly.
