✺ Birdie's POV ✺
It's been two weeks since Kira got pulled out of our class by the dean. To say those two weeks have been long would be an understatement. I've hardly seen my girlfriend and talking to her on the phone doesn't seem the same.
I miss her so much.
I'm not even spending the weekend at her place this weekend because if I'm away too much, it gives Ella a reason to question and just cause more issues that neither of us need.
It's been hard but I'm looking on the bright side, it's spring break in a weeks time and I'm hoping if neither of us have plans for it, we can just spend it together.
I'm really hoping we spend it together.
But for now, I'm sat in my apartment baking for the third time this week because I don't want to think about Kira so much—even if she's all I think about.
Ava and Ivan have been a massive help to that too. "So what's everyone's plan for this weekend?" Ava asked.
"Staying in and enjoying it because next weekend is Valentines weekend." Ivan said as he continued to mix the cake batter.
I'd completely forgotten about valentines weekend because I've been so wrapped up and concerned with Ella ruining my relationship.
"Oh shit, I forgot about Valentine's weekend." I said. "What are you and Andre doing?"
"We've made plans so to say...a weekend away." Ivan grinned widely. "I'm more excited than I need to be. I mean I've never been in a relationship that doesn't require me doing all the planning and I guess it's nice to have the planning done for me." He blushes lightly.
"Where are you guys going?" Ava asked.
"No idea, he said it's a surprise and that I should just pack enough for four nights." He said. "We're only back on Tuesday."
"Stop that's so cute! You have to ask him to be your boyfriend," Ava said and I agreed.
"I will, I just need to find the right time." He said and we smiled widely for him. "Ava, you and Nadia?"
"Nadi's away, so nothing really—but she promised to make it up to me when she's back." Ava blushed. "Birdie?"
"In all honesty, I forgot about Valentine's weekend, I've been so busy trying to keep Ella from ruining my relationship that I forgot about it all." I said.
"You have to do something—"
"Ask Kira to be your valentine's." Ivan said.
"Yes! Buy her flowers and stuff, plus you always say she's the one planning dates, plan the weekend together." Ava said.
She had a point. I should be the one to plan something. Kira's been doing a lot of the firsts first so it should be my turn to plan our first valentines together.
But the question is what now? What do I do and how do I do it?
Flowers to ask her are a start. "I'm gonna get her flowers to ask her first." I said and they both agreed.
"That's a good idea," Ava said. "Please let me help, you've both got plans and I'm at a loss—my first Valentine's weekend alone in four years." She said.
Ivan and I looked at each other, I had a feeling I knew what he was thinking and I was going to agree with him.
Ava was right, in the last four years she's always had Valentine's Day with Felix but this time she doesn't. She has Nadia but she's missing the day in itself and I know that brings back either happy or painful memories.
