Chapter 150: Obeyed

Disclaimer: You might have noticed the gradual shift in the language I’ve been using in my recent updates. The reason behind this is that certain characters, such as the knights, Eagle, and the 13th knight, require the use of a more universal language, especially during formal meetings and conversations. Kasi iba-iba sila ng lahi, eh, kaya hindi naman p'wedeng nagta-Tagalog sila especially may universal language naman to use.

As for Luna and the others whose dialogues have also become predominantly in English, that shift was part of my preparation for the upcoming chapters where the knights will be featured more heavily. In a way, I’ve been slowly easing into it, starting with using alternate points of view written in Tagalog before transitioning to English.

Don't worry, as much as possible, I'm using 'yung mga mababaw na English term for you guys to understand pa rin. It will also help us to enhance rin kasi ang vocabulary natin.

LUNA'S P. O. V

Nagkakagulo ang lahat dahil sa biglaang pagkawala ni Knoxx. Wala rin kahit sino sa amin ang nakapansin ng kakaiba sa mga kinikilos ni Knoxx kahapon. Masaya ang lahat sa kabila ng mga problema na haharapin namin nang sama-sama. 

Gaya ng inaasahan, dahil nagtiwala kami kay Kian, walang nakaalam sa ginawa namin. Ligtas ang buhok ni Panotchi... sa ngayon.

"There's only one person na makakasagot sa atin kung nasaan si Knoxx," Deth said, his tone tight with concern, though he himself had no idea where Knoxx had gone. Siya pa itong huling nakaalam dahil halos kagigising niya lang.

Ang pogi. 

Tangina, Luna?

"Sasama ako," sabi ko.

"Luna and I will talk to Dad. The rest of you, try searching the island; he might just be lurking somewhere nearby. Dad didn't tell me anything about Knoxx leaving kaya siguro akong hindi siya umalis ng isla," Deth instructed, already slipping into a more serious tone.

"Oo nga, guys. There's no way Knoxx left this island alone. Sige na, maghanap na tayo," positibong sabi ni Tev.

Deth reached out and grabbed my hand, pulling me along with him. I followed without resistance. He looked dead serious. I could tell that he had a bad feeling about all this, kahit pa sinubukan niyang itago kanina sa harap ng mga kaibigan namin. I helped him by staying calm sa harap nila even though we feel the same.

I didn't talk until makarating na kami sa tree office ni Panotchi. He was secretly eating his cake, but the moment he saw Deth, he froze. In a panic, he tossed the rest of the cake out the window.

Ang galing ng matandang panot.

"I already saw it," Deth said coldly. "Your doctor said to control your intake of sweet foods, hindi ba? Do you really wanna die?"

"No—"

"Because if you do, I'd be more than happy to help end your life with my own hands."

"You're ruthless to your own father," Panotchi muttered sadly, looking down. "I just wanted a bite. It's a new flavor... and it was a gift."

"A bite? That nearly half-eaten cake says otherwise," Deth shot back, glancing at the leftover half still sitting in the container.

Ayun lang, hindi naitapon.

I wanted to laugh, but I held it in. This was serious for Deth. No matter how sharp he talked to his father, I knew he genuinely cared at alam kong alam din ito ni Panotchi kaya lang matigas ang ulo talaga.
