Chapter 122: Briefcase

[BRIEFCASE]

LUNA'S P. O. V

We were already outside Mr. Saavedra's modern mansion. I was with Deth, Rance, Steven, Stella, Eunice, Wolf, Storm, Gavin, Kian, Sander, plastic, and... Knoxx.

We all froze in surprise as we were about to board the yacht. Knoxx suddenly appeared behind us. Panotchi allowed him to join, though even he seemed shocked at Knoxx's sudden presence. The question is... why did Panotchi agree so quickly?

Our mission is to retrieve a special briefcase from Saavedra's basement. We were all dressed in black, masks on, ready for whatever might come our way.

The plan is...

"Rance, Steven, Sander, at Gavin, kayo ang papasok sa likod ng mansyon. Gavin ikaw na ang bahala sa kanila. Send us an update using your earpiece," Deth instructed, his voice was steady.

Tumango naman ang apat.

Deth then turned to Stella and her team. "Stella, Eunice, Wolf, and Zai, the second floor is all yours. Wolf, make sure everything goes smoothly. Send me an update, too. Sumama na kayo kina Gavin dahil mas maraming kalaban sa loob kaysa sa mga nakabantau dito sa harap."

Tumango ang apat.

"After niyo, sumunod agad kayo sa basement. Mas marami tayong maghahanap, mas mabuti. Tanda had warned us about it. He said we could probably handle the guards, but the real challenge would be finding what we came for—the briefcase in the basement. Tsaka mas mabuti kung magkakasama tayo. Kapag natagalan tayo, saka lang ako mag-uutos na may lumabas." He said then faced the rest of us. "The ones I didn't call, we're going in through the front at tayo ang kukuha ng briefcase."

Tumango kami nina Storm, Knoxx, Kian, at plastic.

"Kasama ba sa plano ang mamatay?" He asked.

"No," some of us answered, while others shook their heads.

"Then none of us will die," Deth declared firmly, his tone leaving no room for doubt. "Okay, let's move. Let's finish this quickly so we can get back to the island and rest."

The two groups left, and as they did, I noticed Gavin's steps were heavy. He looked back at me. I raised my hand and smiled.

"Take care," I mouthed. Gavin smiled back at me, his eyes softening for just a moment before he turned away. I was about to glance back at Deth when I felt a hand pull me back. Startled, I looked up, my eyes widened.

"D-Deth."

"Why?"

"It should be—"

"Deth, what are you doing?" Elisse's voice cut through the moment, her tone sharp with suspicion.

"Shhh..." Kian quickly interjected, grabbing her hand to stop her. "You can throw a tantrum later if you want. Let's just get through this mission first."

"I should be with—"

"Shut up."

It wasn't Deth's voice. It was Knoxx, his tone low and threatening. "Don't forget we're on a mission, Elisse. You might as well die if you can't keep your mouth shut," he said, his face darkened as if staring down an enemy. Elisse's eyes widened in shock.

She probably didn't expect such harsh words from Knoxx.

"Ready your guns!" Deth's shout echoed as the sound of gunfire echoed around us. He let go of my hand.

"It's been a while since I last held a gun," Deth muttered, a hint of nostalgia in his voice as he gripped his weapon tightly.

"Good luck, Kian. Shoot as many as you can," Storm said, his voice calm.
