CUE

HADES' P. O. V

Bumibigay na ang mga mata ko, hindi dahil sa antok kung hindi dahil sa tinamo ng mga 'to sa ginawang pambubugbog ng mga tauhan ni Eagle. My legs took most of the damage; even the slightest movement sends waves of pain through me. Ayaw ko lang ipakita. I won't give them the satisfaction of seeing me weaken.

Bumukas ang pinto. Pumasok ang isang lalaki na nakaformal ang suot at nakamask. Nasa likod niya ang dalawang nagbabantay sa akin.

"Eagle's really cruel," he commented after he inspected me. He glanced at his phone. He looks like not a Filipino and fluent in English. "I'm going to call my boss. You two, leave."

The guards exchanged looks, then nodded and quietly stepped out.

His boss? Hindi si Eagle ang boss niya?

Napakunot ako ng noo ko nang ibulsa niya ang phone niya pagkalabas ng dalawa.

"I'm not gonna beat around the bush. I'm here to help you as much as I can."

"Sino nagpadala sa'yo? Sarmiento?"

"I can't talk Filipino; I can only understand but do it slowly." He shook his head and walked behind me, slipping something into my hand. Keys?

"When the opportunity comes, save yourself too," he said, moving back in front of me.

"Who are you?" I asked as I struggled recognizing his eyes to tell that he's one of Sarmiento's men.

"Stop asking questions. If you really want to help Deth, you must follow the order given to you. Do your best to convince Eagle to release Deth. Tell him Deth can easily be killed if his father dies, so he doesn't need to worry about him for now. As for you-you know more about your father. He won't kill you until you speak. Remember, you only speak once Deth is free."

"He could still kill Deth," I said. It was the truth. Whether I talk or not, Deth will die. Eagle is someone who can't be trusted because he only knows one way to end his problem-killing.

"We'll handle that. The priority is getting Deth far from here and saving him."

Maybe... just maybe... Deth could survive.

"Just make sure this plan works," I said.

"It won't guarantee your safety. You might-"

"Your mission is to save Deth. That's mine too," I cut him off.

He's my father's man. Deth only matters to him, which isn't shocking.

"Sarmiento's location for Deth's life. Island's location for your life. Tell him the abandoned place, Sarmiento's favorite hideout. He'll go there to confirm your info."

"The hell? Did Sarmiento agree to this?" I muttered. "Wait, I'm confused. Sarmiento and the island are in the same place."

He cursed under his breath. "Yes, but you'll give two different locations. One for Sarmiento, one for the island."

Natigilan ako. "You don't make any sense."

"That's for you to be saved. The longer he lets you stay alive, the higher chance you will live and find your way out. Actually, your easy way out is when he leaves this area to go after Sarmiento but in case security was really tight, that resorts you to telling him the location of the island while making sure that he can't kill you after you speak." He cursed, frustrated. "Damn, none of what I said will guarantee your safety because it depends on how you execute all of them or your plans in your mind."
