"Hello, Manager Wei. I am Jennie Kim, an editor from Fengyu Media Corporation's business reporting department. Sorry to bother you, can I..." She walked to his desk and introduced herself. She was about to continue speaking, but when the man lifted his face, the words that were about to come out of her mouth were suddenly stuck.

Jennie looked at Wei as if she had seen a ghost. Her body began to get drenched by the cold sweat.

Wei glanced at her and seemed to have some impression of her. His gaze glanced at her clean and beautiful face and swept her chest.

Jennie unconsciously took a step back. With a pale face, she said, "I'm sorry, I might have walked through the wrong door." With that, she immediately turned around and left.

"Wait, Miss Kim!" When Wei called her, his voice contained threats and doubts. He suddenly stood up and walked closer, standing in front of Jennie as he looked up and down.

Jennie couldn't help but take a step back. "I still have something urgent to attend to. I'll have to trouble Manager Wei to step aside."

"Why do you look so familiar? Oh, it's you!" His voice was quite loud, and his smile was a bit vulgar and ambiguous as he stepped forward.

Jennie felt a chill run down her spine. She looked at the indecent look in his eyes and hoped she could just take the cup from the table and smash it into his fat pig's head.

Jennie paused for a moment before calming down and saying, "What did you say? I don't understand. Please step aside. I still have work to do."

"Work? Why don't we talk about our private work first?" Wei approached her step by step with a lewd smile on his face. He stretched out his hand to touch her chin, but as she tried to dodge, she did not realize that her back was stuck on the edge of his desk.

Jennie leaned against it and with a pale face, she looked at his hand disgustingly.

"This is the Jung Group!" Jennie gritted her teeth as she gave Wei a warning.

Her eyes glowered at him. The paleness in her face and the retreat in her eyes were concealed with great effort. She tightly clenched her teeth to suppress the familiar fear rising up in her heart.

"So what if we are in the Jung Group? Isn't this my territory? It's been years since we last met." Wei glanced at her pale face.

He stepped back and walked to the door, then locked it.

When Jennie saw that the door was locked, her expression became even more unsightly.

When Wei tried to pull at her clothes, she raised her bag and viciously threw it on his head.

"Ah! You little bitch!"

"Bastard!" Jennie shouted over her shoulder as she immediately ran to the door.

Jennie tried to break the door lock, but her mind was in a mess. Memories from an abandoned warehouse seven years ago flooded her mind. The disgusting smile on the face of the same man, the wretched eyes...

The dark, damp ground, the cold body, the unbearable memories ...

Wei!

How could it be him?!

The fat man who had pushed her into a corner in the abandoned warehouse! Why was he here! Furthermore, he possessed such a grand identity!

"Back then, I let you run away and in these past few years, I've always dreamt of you, little girl. Since you delivered yourself to my door, you still want to run away?!"

Jennie struggled with all her might, but her mouth was suddenly covered by his hand. "Ugh ...Let...Me..Ugh...Go!"

A sudden knock was heard on the office door.

Jennie's tense heart finally relaxed a little. The disgusting Wei was stunned at the same time. He cursed in her ear and pushed her away.

Jennie quickly leaned against the door, staring at him.

Wei tidied up his clothes and shot her a disapproving glance. "I'm warning you, don't speak of what happened today and what happened that year. Otherwise..."

He narrowed his eyes and suddenly smiled obscenely. "Don't blame me for leaking your photos in the abandoned warehouse."

Jennie took a deep breath and stared at Wei in disbelief. At the same time, Wei went up to the door and opened it. The one who entered was Kai.

Kai handed a brown paper bag to Wei, who had a serious expression on his face. At the same time, he turned around as if looking for something, until he saw Jennie leaning against the wall with a pale face. "What's wrong with you?"

"It's nothing. Don't mind her.I just made a joke with Miss Kim, and she was scared because she was too timid!" Wei immediately laughed.

Kai looked at Jennie's pale and stiff face with hesitation. He was about to continue asking when she rushed out of the door while clutching the bag in her hand.

"Jennie!"

"Eh, Director Kai knows Miss Kim?" Wei stopped Kai from chasing after Jennie.

Kai glanced at him. "Yes, I do. Manager Wei, why are you asking me this?"

"Nothing, I just think that Miss Kim is quite a nice person." Wei rubbed his pot-bellied belly and smiled very politely.

Jennie ran out of Jung Group as fast as she could, found her car, and drove out of the parking lot.

After driving for a while, she couldn't take it anymore, so she braked and parked in a temporary parking spot by the side of the road. She lowered her head and leaned against the steering wheel while trembling uncontrollably.

The phone in her bag suddenly rang. Jennie wiped away the tears and took the phone out of her bag. She looked at the caller's number. It was an unknown number. She hesitated for a while before answering, "Hello?"

There was a moment of silence.

Jennie impatiently wiped her wet eyes and waited for the caller to speak.

"Hello? Who is this?"

"Miss Kim, are you really happy seeing me??Judging by the tone of your voice, it seemed like you were really happy to see me that you were crying." Wei's voice sounded like a ghost who was trying to haunt her.

Jennie quickly ended the call. Her chest rose and fell as she leaned back in her seat. Even though she knew it was impossible, she still felt as if someone was following her from the shadow.

When she turned to look behind her and her surroundings, she could not see any suspicious person or car. She then exhaled and bit her lip. Her eyes stared straight ahead, her gaze was somewhat blank.

Lots of embarrassing memories of the past and ones she didn't want to remember were flooded. The days of nightmares in her life, the years of fear and coldness of a horrible childhood, the cold nights when she curled up in bed, the ridicule and the curse, the nights of despair in the abandoned warehouse...

Jennie wanted to laugh, but instead of laughing, she suddenly burst into tears. She raised her hand to cover her mouth and lowered her head to lean on the steering wheel. Her shoulders could not help but tremble slightly.
