Jennie lowered her head without saying a word. She casually used the back of her hand to wipe away the tears, and then as she was about to wipe the other side, Lisa pulled her hand away. With one hand holding her hand, and the other hand wiping away her tears, he stroked her face and said patiently, "Alright, stop crying. It is not good for your body."

If he hadn't suddenly arrived, perhaps Jennie would have just been sitting there in a daze until tomorrow morning. The warmth of his body made her unable to control her emotions and shed tears. Jennie snorted and chuckled, while at the same time, shaking her head, "It's nothing. I was reminded of something and somehow a little sad."

Lisa looked at her quietly. He pushed her hair behind her ear and said nothing. He only just looked at her.

Jennie knew that she could not hide this matter from him. Normally, she rarely cried because she knew that no matter what happened, crying will not solve anything. But now, there were too many emotions in her heart, making it hard for her to calm down, thus she could only rely on tears to vent her feelings.

Jennie didn't want to make Lisa worried, so she hesitated before saying, "I'm fine, really. Don't worry about me."

Lisa turned around and looked directly at Bella on the opposite bed. Bella was tired of playing with the two dolls after Senior Zhou left, so she got up and stepped onto the bench to see Little Goldfish on the window sill. Less than a few minutes before Lisa arrived, she climbed into her bed again.

"Bella, do you know what happened to auntie?" Lisa asked with a smile.

Jennie was embarrassed. That little girl had become one of his informants in this ward.

Bella immediately sat up, hugged her blanket, and blinked her eyes as she said, "Daddy, just now, great-grandfather came to deliver Bella's doll, and then great-grandfather kept talking to Auntie Jennie. Afterward, when Uncle Doctor asked Auntie Jennie to go for check-up, great grandfather left, but great-grandfather didn't bully Auntie Jennie! I didn't listen to them because my great-grandfather's voice was very soft. I don't know why she cried!"

"Senior Zhou came before?" Lisa's expression darkened. His clear and handsome face was filled with seriousness. He looked at Jennie and asked, "What did he say?"

Jennie lowered her head and held the tissue in her hand, squeezing it tighter. She took a deep breath. No sense in hiding this matter from him because sooner or later, he will know. "Lis, do you really know your mother?"

Lisa looked at her with a soft smile. "Mom is a smart person who is good at feigning ignorance. No matter how much I know about her, she is still my own mother. Although we are connected in heart, there are still some aspects where we might not agree."

Jennie shook her head slowly. "You still know her well. You know what she looks like, but I don't. I don't know my mother's background nor I know her personality. In my mind, she is just a vague memory, but it's very important for me to know about her. So far I can only hear and know about her from other people's mouths. I can't even tell if she is real or fake."

"I have never been able to understand it to this day. She is a very great person and even has the capital to overcome Lian and fight over everything she wants. So why must she end her life by committing suicide? Just how much did she hate this world?"

Seeing her eyes filled with suffering, Lisa's heart ached. He gently and carefully pressed the back of her head to his chest and said, "You and I cannot predict or control the events of the previous generation. As long as you are willing to let go of everything, you don't have to take it too seriously."

Lisa seemed to be able to guess what had happened to Jennie before she spoke, and when he looked at her, he looked at her with a soft smile.

Seeing his calm and attentive expression, Jennie couldn't help but ask, "Are you hiding something from me?"

When Lisa lowered his eyes and looked at her, there was a faint light shining in his eyes. Jennie couldn't understand and couldn't see through him, but she could feel that he hid this matter because he did not want her to misunderstand.

She was even more confused as she directly asked, "Lisa, did you know my relationship with Senior Zhou?"

Lisa was always overly rational and calm. There were very few people who could see through such a clear and bright man. Jennie could only stare at him in surprise until he stroked her face with a smile. "It seems like Senior Zhou finally intends to take action."

After saying that, his hand gently slid across her face, causing her eyes, which had been staring at him the entire time, to close. When she opened them again, they were no longer as round as before.

Lisa continued with a chuckle, "Not long ago, when I was investigating a historic case from twenty years ago, I simultaneously spotted your mother's name."

"The matter was originally suppressed by Jihoon. Unless you, her daughter, personally narrated the matter, the people who knew Chaerin didn't believe that she was dead at all. All the rumors of her death were said to have been fabricated. Only a few people who have worked with Jihoon knew the gist of the matter but because of the good relations between them, no one wanted to say anything."

"I found out about Chaerin's adoptive mother who is in the United States but unfortunately, she died of an illness, so I can only find out about the actual relationship between your mother and Senior Zhou from some of my close friends."

At this point, Lisa's expression was still as indifferent and elegant as before. There wasn't the slightest hint that he was trying to justify his actions. His tone was calm and it made Jennie feel that he was extremely good at driving her thoughts.

His usual calm and rational attitude made her aware that his concealment was just another form of protection.

She hesitated for a moment and then said, "Senior Zhou came to find me the day before our wedding."

Lisa's brows twitched. "No wonder."

Jennie did not analyze the meaning of his words, she simply said in a low voice, "I have guessed at the time that I may have something to do with him. After all, Niki and I are very similar, and my mother's surname is Zhou. Plus when he showed her photo, although I had no idea at the time, I was very resistant to this kind of speculation. But now, no matter how much I resisted, some facts had been displayed right in front of me, and I couldn't escape it."

Jennie thought for a moment, then suddenly grabbed Lisa's arm. "Lis, I've been in this hospital for too long, so the doctor easily got my DNA. Please help me take care of it, and don't let Senior Zhou get my DNA. I still haven't figured out what I have to do now and if he can get my DNA and confirm this fact, then it will be difficult for me to stay away from the Zhou Family."

Then, Jennie pushed him out of bed more urgently, "Lis, help me check if there's any blood sample or hair. I remember Senior Zhou went to find the doctor who examined me when he left just now."

Seeing her in such a hurry, Lisa calmly held her down. "Don't be anxious, this matter is not as serious as you think it is. Even if you had something to do with the Zhou Family, neither you nor I would be affected."

"I'm not sure if what Senior Zhou said was true and I'm not doubting the blood relationship between him and me. I'm only doubting what kind of attitude he has towards my mother. My mother could easily seek out the Zhou Family as her backing, but she chose to seek death instead. All of this is definitely not as simple as Senior Zhou said it is. I don't want to be deceived, I don't want to be led away by the nose by anyone, and I also don't want to implicate the Manoban family because of all these things that I can't foresee."

Jennie's tone of voice was firm and serious. Lisa's hand tightened around her shoulder, patted her soothingly. After that, he got up and went out to take a look when his phone suddenly rang.
