After that, Jennie received a call from the Manoban Family. Chitthip said that the Old Man was waiting for her. After ending the call, Jennie prepared to head straight to Manoban Residence.

Jennie suddenly remembered the weather forecaster's forecast that there would be a storm in Shanghai and she was suddenly very worried about Lisa's safety. She took out her phone and wanted to call him but then she stopped herself.

Jennie was hesitant whether she should Lisa or not. She was afraid that she would bother him. In the end, she didn't call him and drove straight to the road leading to Manoban Residence.

It was already evening when Jennie arrived at the Residence. Upon entering, she was immediately greeted by Nanny Cheng. Since she was still uneasy and worried about Lisa, she hurriedly picked up the phone in the living room to call him.

As she dialed the number, she saw a strange box on the coffee table in the living room. She subconsciously looked at it.

When the phone call was connected, Jennie immediately felt relieved. She couldn't help but say softly into the phone, "Hubby, is everything going well there? When are you coming back?"

"Hey, my wife ~ ~" A very disgusting and creepy voice came from the other end of the phone, "Your husband will be there right away, don't be in such a hurry ~"

That lustful voice made Jennie nauseous. She suddenly became nervous and directly cursed into the phone, "Damn, pervert! F*ck your head!"

That man started to laugh vulgarly. His laughter was so loud that it made people feel nauseous. "You're the one who called me husband, aren't you, my wife now? You're in such a hurry, how can I bear to make you anxious, baby. Please wait for me okay, I'll be right there!"

"Rascal!" Jennie cursed angrily and hung up the phone. She lowered her head and looked at the number she had just called, and sighed.

She had been distracted by the box on the table and accidentally called the wrong number. Her mind had been distracted by what had happened two days ago, coupled with her concern for Lisa, it made her heart clogged with uneasiness.

Jennie took a deep breath and tried to call him again.

After four or five rings, the call was connected. This time, Jennie carefully looked at the number on the phone. Before she could open her mouth, Lisa's calm voice was heard. "What is it?"

After hearing his voice, Jennie's heart warmed, but from the tone of his voice, it sounded like he did not know this was her. Jennie suddenly remembered that she called him using the Residence's landline. She couldn't help but laugh. "Lis ~"

At this time, Old Man walked into the living room and saw Jennie sitting on the couch holding the phone. After hearing her words, he walked with a smile as he held his cane. "Is that Lisa?"

Jennie nodded happily. In the end, the Old Man took the phone from her. "Coincidentally, I have something to discuss with him. Give me the phone."

When the Old Man received the phone, he glanced at her expression and smiled faintly. After he picked up the phone, he immediately said, "Lisa, something happened there; please arrange someone to help your father solve it."

Lisa said something after that, and the Old Man seemed to be hesitant for a moment. "Then what do you plan to do?"

"All right, I'm old now. There are some things I can't interfere with. You take care of it."

After the Old Man said a few more words, he glanced at Jennie. He smiled and said, "Jennie really missed you, the girl is so anxious like an ant in a hot pot. If I don't give her this phone, she will probably start to be jealous of me!"

"Grandpa, what are you saying?" Jennie chuckled. "How can I be jealous of you!"

Who said she was so anxious like an ant in a hot pan? She was obviously very calm.

Jennie picked up the phone after the Old Man handed it to her. She looked at him and the Old Man smiled as if nothing had happened. Then he picked up his cane and sat by the window to hear her conversation.

Jennie looked at the Old Man again before she said in an innocent voice, "Grandpa is exaggerating too much. I really don't miss you!"

Lisa chuckled. "Is that so? Then, what do you want?"

Hearing his chuckle, Jennie felt a sweet sensation in her heart and whispered, "Are you busy? I didn't interrupt you, right?"

Lisa pondered for a moment before answering, "Jen, I will try my best to shorten the travel time and return as soon as possible. You always have to be careful. Greenville Residence and Manoban Residence are places they cannot touch."

"I know." Jennie pursed her lip. "I'm sorry, I did not think that the Construction Bureau had fully co-existed with the Jung Group and almost fell into their trap. I had caused you too much worry."

"Idiot. There are many things that even I couldn't predict, let alone you. As long as you are not afraid, I am fine." He comforted her gently.

Jennie smiled. She was not afraid and like what Lisa said, she couldn't have predicted what would happen, but after hearing his calm voice, all the anxiety and uneasiness in her heart disappeared.

"Lis, no matter what difficulties you have, you must tell me. We must face it together and not allow yourself to be overburdened. That way, I will be more worried. Don't hide too much from me just to protect me, okay?"

Jennie actually felt that there was something Lisa did not tell her, but she knew he did that because he didn't want to make her too worried.

As she said that, she held the phone receiver firmly in her hand. Her eyes were clear and firm.

Lisa's faint laughter could be heard after a moment's silence.

Jennie was already at the end of her sentence, and she would not say much, but of course, she knew that whether Lisa agreed or not, it would not stop her from wanting to go along with him.

They were husband and wife, and Jennie was not a vulnerable person who would willingly be protected behind him. At least, at some point, she wanted to stand by her husband's side and face the wind and rain with him.

No matter what!

"Alright."

Jennie took a deep breath. She suddenly felt like crying.

It should be difficult for Lisa to say those words, right?

And she always seemed to be making things difficult for him.

At this moment, Jennie heard Jisoo and the others talking by his side, so she asked, "Lis, are you busy?"

Lisa said softly, "It's fine. I just have some business to deal with immediately."

As if he felt her reluctance and longing, he said softly, "It was late at night when I finished work. I know that you have already gone to sleep during those times, so I didn't call you."

"How can I complain about that? If you don't have something important, why are you on a business trip for so long? I know you are very busy, and that's why I didn't contact you. Today, I am very worried for you, so that's why I called you."

Lisa chuckled. "I'll be back as soon as possible. You take care of yourself, don't worry about me, okay?"

Jennie smiled and replied, "En!"

After hanging up the phone, she realized that even though Old Man was sitting in a chair, his gaze was fixed on her. Jennie remembered that Chitthip called to say that the Old Man had something to talk about with her, so she walked over and gently placed a thin blanket at the Old Man's feet.

"Grandfather, mom said that you have something you want to talk to me about?" She asked softly.

The Old Man nodded, then looked at her thoughtfully. "Spoiled girl, grandpa wants to ask you about V."
