If Senior Zhou knew about what happened that year, would there be some kind of trouble again? Her life had finally calmed down and she did not want to cause any more trouble, but her mother's grievances and the pain that she had suffered in the Kim Family, should she just let it go like this?

Lisa immediately looked at Jennie. He had a gentle and loving smile on his face. Jennie's conflicting heart immediately calm because of his comforting and silent encouragement.

Although she did not want to disturb the peace in her life, but because someone was willing to take revenge on her, she had to be fair to her mother. Senior Zhou owes a lot to Chaerin for committing crimes several decades ago.

Just as Jennie was about to ask Senior Zhou to lend her a hand, V opened his mouth and said, "Chaerin died 20 years ago. Wouldn't it be too late for Senior Zhou to atone for your mistakes now?"

His words caused Senior Zhou's face to tremble. He stood up abruptly and looked at V.

Jennie's words were almost swallowed back in her throat.

While she was still hesitating on whether she should say it or not, V made a rare decision for her.

She turned her head and looked at him, but V simply looked at Senior Zhou indifferently. "As for the cause of death, Senior Zhou should have gone to the Kim Family to investigate, not the Manoban Family. The grievances Jennie suffered since she was young, from Jihoon to Nancy, who knows about the trauma and loneliness that the so-called family of three brought to her childhood? Asking Jennie these questions is equivalent to having her open her own wounds in front of you and show it to you. If Senior Zhou's heart truly loves this granddaughter of yours, why don't you give her some time and space to let her live her current life in peace! If you want to know the truth, go find the Kim Family and see what kind of good things they did back then!"

Senior Zhou's expression was somewhat of a skeleton. He frowned and looked at V quietly, as if he was considering the authenticity of his words.

Jennie just wanted to cherish the peaceful and warm life she was living now, not wanting to be broken by anyone. But even she didn't know what had happened to her mother that year, so perhaps letting Senior Zhou investigate it himself would be twice the result with half the effort.

From Senior Zhou's expression, it was like he really didn't expect that Chaerin was no longer alive. He didn't expect her to have died twenty years ago. Senior Zhou immediately turned around to look at Jennie.

Jennie's indifferent expression seemed to confirm it and it made Senior Zhou's expression turn solemn and terrifying instantly.

"Kim Family?" Senior Zhou squinted his eyes and immediately smiled.

He smiled at Old Man, who didn't say much all this time. "Looks like my granddaughter's path is a little rough. I've troubled you today. Let's come out another day and have a drink."

"Sure, sure." Old Man also stood up with a smile.

Senior Zhou nodded, his mind full of thoughts. He then looked at Jennie, who was silent and thought for a moment. He shifted his gaze to Lisa and said, "Initially, Niki was my favorite, but now Jennie and Niki are my granddaughters. They are both from the same flesh. Lisa, one of my granddaughters doesn't want to get married anymore because of you and as for Jennie, you have to treat her well."

Senior Zhou's sudden change was unexpected, but Jennie still didn't say anything. It was unknown if his sudden change was a good or bad thing. She clearly didn't have any intention of getting involved with the Zhou Family.

Lisa's lips curved into a faint smile, "Jennie is my wife, of course, I will treat her well. As for Niki, it's just an old story. Senior Zhou should calm her down and persuade her to meet other men as soon as possible."

Lisa's voice was gentle like jade. He held Jennie's hand the entire time, giving her the strength to face all of this.

Jennie could feel the warmth he gave to her, so she looked up and glanced at Senior Zhou. She nodded politely. "Take care."

Senior Zhou was not angry even though Jennie ordered him out as soon as she opened her mouth. He just looked at her, sighed, and left.

After Senior Zhou left, V sat on the couch near where Jennie sat. He glanced at her. "If you don't want to recognize him, then you can just not admit it. The Zhou Family is too deep, who knows what he is thinking right now."

Before this, when Senior Zhou knew she was the daughter-in-law of the Manoban Family, he was unhappy. It was obvious that Senior Zhou wanted Niki to marry into the Family. In the end, the Manoban Family did not accept the marriage, and now that Jennie was his granddaughter, Senior Zhou was in such a hurry to come over. No one knew what he was planning.

That's why Old Man didn't say anything until Senior Zhou left. Then he looked at Jennie thoughtfully.

"No matter from which angle we stand, if we don't control ourselves, we will eventually become pawns in someone's hands. Even if Jennie had this layer of relationship with the Zhou Family, with her current personality, she will definitely not have any influence in this world. Jennie is not a person who travels with the flow, and no one can easily waver her heart."

When Lisa said this, he clearly knows what Old Man and Marco were thinking at the moment. His tone was light and it was like he was talking about normal things.

His words made the Old Man and Marco calm down a bit. The Old Man nodded. "I really didn't expect Jennie would be Senior Zhou's granddaughter."

He then shook his head, "The world is very small, but what you just said was also true. I knew spoiled girl's character very well. A child who suffered greatly after entering the Kim Family, but still able to straighten her back and stay upright, must have a clear mind."

There was a hidden meaning behind Old Man's words.

He reminded Jennie always to be vigilant and not to forget her true self because of her relationship with the Zhou Family.

Jennie smiled. "Grandfather, I will not disappoint you."

"Alright, good child."

Hearing her words, Old Man nodded with a pleased smile. "Grandpa has never been disappointed with you, but as for what Senior Zhou wants to do with the Kim Family and if it affects our Family, you don't need to worry. If there are any problems, grandpa will support you here!"

Jennie grinned. At the same time, Lisa also lowered his head to look at her with a smile. His dark black eyes were filled with tender concern.

It was almost 9 pm when they left the Residence. Before returning home, Old Man warned Jennie not to overthink it.

Originally, Jennie was worried the Manoban Family would be prejudiced against her because of this. After all, she hid her background from them and fortunately, the Old Man was reasonable, and Lisa spoke for her. Instead, she gets more attention from the elders.

When Lisa walked out of the bathroom, he saw Jennie sitting on the bed, leaning on the headboard, reading a civil servant exam book in her hand. Sometimes she nodded her head, sometimes she would shake it, and sometimes she even muttered something.

Lisa seemed to be infected by her smile. He sat on the other side of the bed and hugged her. "Why are you so happy?"

Jennie handed the book in her hand to him and lay on his chest with a smile. She rubbed her head against his chest like a kitten, found a comfortable position, and leaned against it.
