Children's Hospital Los Angeles

Luci and RJ are cuddling in Luci's hospital bed and have been playing educational games on her iPad and watched a lot of kid shows.

RJ and Will don't give their much screen time, however with Luci doing a 24 hour Electroencephalogram (EEG) they want to keep her calm and occupied so the test can get the best results.

"What do you wanna watch now, Luci Goose?" RJ asks Luci as he opens up her iPad.

"Blwuey!" Luci says with a purple pacifier in her mouth as she cuddles RJ, laying her head on his chest.

RJ chuckles as he looks up at Will and Will shakes his head. RJ and Will love the show Bluey but Luci has watched every single episode just about it feels like and they are done watching Bluey for the time being.

"Let's watch something else! Do you wanna watch Ms. Rachel?" RJ asks Luci and Luci cheers.

"Ya! Is Wachel!" Luci says with a big smile.

"Thank God." Will whispers as RJ laughs.

Will had been cuddling in the hospital bed with Luci all night and most of the morning so he and RJ switched places a few hours ago so Will can take a break from being stuck in the bed and so he can do some work on his laptop.

Ms. Rachel plays on the iPad and Luci happily smiles.

"Ms. Rachel is awesome isn't she?" Will asks Luci, kissing her cheek.

"Ya! Aww tome!" Luci says trying to repeat Will causing him and RJ to smile and chuckle.

"I'm going to get something from the cafeteria to eat. Do you want anything?" Will asks RJ softly.

"I'll take a coffee and a sandwich, thank you baby." RJ says, kissing Will.

"You're welcome, babe. Luci, do you want some ice cream?" Will say to RJ and then at Luci, smiling at her.

"Ya! Ice crweam!" Luci cheers as she claps her hands.

"Ice cream it is for our sweet girl. Daddy loves you, Luci. I love you very much!" Will says, kissing Luci's cheek.

"Wuv you, Da da!" Luci says, giving Will a sloppy kiss.

"And Papi loves you too!" RJ says, kissing Luci's other cheek.

"Wuv you, Pa pi!" Luci says, also giving RJ a sloppy kiss.

Luci then cuddles back with RJ and RJ covers her up with her favorite purple blanket. Luci happily watches the Ms. Rachel video, learning about colors and shapes.

Will quietly leaves Luci's hospital room and heads to the cafeteria.

Once at the cafeteria, Will begins to eat his salad and just somewhat enjoys the quiet without the noises of a hospital room. However, he is forever grateful that Luci is okay and is getting better.

Will decides to film some Instagram stories on his iPhone while he has no one distracting him.

Will sets up his iPhone on the table with his drink holding it up.

"Hello everyone! No time no see! I know we have been posting pictures, videos and stories on Instagram but no vlogs on YouTube. Life is crazy when you have ten kids, three dogs and both RJ and I working jobs outside of YouTube. It's been hectic! But RJ and I are forever grateful to have my mom living with us because she had been holding down the fort for us while RJ and I are at the hospital. Luci doesn't want either one of us to leave." Will says as he takes a bite out of his salad.

"Sorry, I'm starving and the food they bring for parents isn't my favorite. But RJ loves it. Anyway, we are at Children's Hospital because yesterday afternoon, Luci had a seizure and it was probably one of the most terrifying things I have ever witnessed in my life. We have witnessed Dobby have many seizures in his life and that was scary at first but now we know what to do to help. But for your child to be seizing is something else. I  was a wreck." Will says, taking another bite of his salad.

"Thankfully, the seizure wasn't long and the paramedics got to our house quickly. What really worried us was that she never had a seizure before and we were afraid she would start having seizures because it is really common for children with cerebral palsy to have so seizures due to the brain damage they have. The doctors think this was just a febrile seizure because she had a high fever and I honestly felt like a shitty parent when the doctors told RJ and I she had a 102 fever. Luci was acting completely normal yesterday and felt fine but the doctors said a lot of kids act completely normal with a fever." Will says as he opens up his bag of chips.

"I remember when Averie got her tonsils out last year and RJ and I got food from this cafeteria and we had these chips. They are so freaking good. Anyway, sorry for being off topic I'm just exhausted and trying to function. So to rule out her having epilepsy or just having seizures in general, they are doing a twenty four hour EEG and Luci has been a trooper thus far. I thought she couldn't do anything for this test but the doctors want her to do her regular things so she has been walking around, playing with toys, watching videos on the iPad. But they also did a few tests with lights to see if she would have a seizure. So far so good. However, Luci has a slight case of pneumonia so they are giving her antibiotics and breathing treatments for that. It's like once she got to the hospital she started to have symptoms of feeling sick. Poor girly gets sick easily just like Averie does. The doctors think the pneumonia probably triggered the fever and thus triggered the seizure. I actually asked the doctors if everytime she gets a fever will she have a seizure and they said no so that's a good thing to know but it's still terrifying. But all of the doctors think it's just febrile seizures and that they will go away as Luci gets older. We really hope Luci doesn't have epilepsy because we know how hard it is with Dobby, we can't imagine how hard it will be with a child with cerebral palsy." Will says, taking a few chips out to eat. 

"So I just wanna thank everyone for the love and support during this. RJ posted a photo of Luci and me cuddling in the hospital bed so I just wanted to give everyone an update on what's going on. Luci is feeling a lot better and we hope to be out of here probably in the next two days. The doctors want her to have more antibiotics in her and feeling better before they let us go home. I'm going to finish eating my lunch, call my mom to see how the other kids are doing and to bring RJ his lunch and Luci some ice cream. Luci isn't a fan of the hospital food so the doctors want her to just eat something they don't care what and she's been a fan of the ice cream here. But alright, I'll update everyone tonight or tomorrow. Bye!" Will says as he finishes the Instagram stories and posts them on his page.

After two more days in the children's hospital, Will, RJ and Luci all head home! :)

shep689 Luci had a febrile seizure and it was the scariest thing I have ever seen 😭 thankfully she is feeling better and isn't having anymore seizures ❤️

shep689 Luci did such an amazing job during her EEG! 😭 we are so grateful she doesn't have a seizure disorder and it's just isolated to febrile seizures.

a lot of children with cerebral palsy can have seizures due to the brain damage they have. luckily, Luci will most likely not be one of those children. now it's time to leave the hospital and get back to normal 💜
