Aubrey's Certified Lover Boy Tour was in full effect. He had done six shows so far over the span of two weeks. Today was his first of five shows in Madison Square Garden in New York City. He was up early with his trainer and Jasmine working out. He had to do it to stay in shape but Jasmine did it for her mental health.
She had started therapy again. No matter how much she tried to avoid it, she needed to work through her grief. She had been trying to ignore the pain of losing Ayden by focusing her attention to Aaliyah but that didn't work.
Aubrey had noticed Jasmine's emotional distance from him but he was busy so there wasn't much he could do. She was so much more quiet. She didn't hang out after the shows or go to dinner with the crew. Jasmine came to the shows to support Aubrey and swiftly went back to the hotel and ordered room service. She spent most of her time alone with Aaliyah.
"8 more reps...7...6...5...good. Keep pushing!" Darryl, the trainer, encouraged
As their workout came to an end, Aubrey and Jasmine began to leave the hotel gym.
"Wanna get some breakfast?" He asked
Jasmine looked to her baby monitor. Aaliyah was peacefully sleeping in her nanny's arms. Deena was her name. She came highly recommended by Marcy and she was just a great.
"Uh...sure." Jas nodded
Aubrey grabbed her hand and Bruce followed them as they walked to the hotel restaurant. They were seated immediately toward the back. Jasmine immediately started to look over the menu. Aubrey just stared at her.
"How are your sessions going?" He asked
"They're going." She shrugged
"No light at the end of the tunnel yet?" He asked
"Not yet." She shook her head
Aubrey nodded. "I understand...you know if you want to talk about it-
"Yeah. I know." Jasmine nodded, cutting him off
They ordered their food and it came out quickly. Jasmine began eating her omelet when her phone rang.
"It's work. I should take this." She told Aubrey
He nodded, annoyed but understanding.
"Hey, Jon." She smiled
"Hey Jas. Have you taken a look at the new offer yet? Tom is on my back about it." He asked
"Yeah I looked over it yesterday. I'll send over my response later today. My lawyer is still reviewing it." She responded
Aubrey sat there quietly, listening to her conversation.
"Alright. That sounds great. I know you're touring right now but once the contract goes through, they'll want you back in Toronto for a couple of weeks. Just for the onboarding." He told her
