I sighed and rubbed Jasmine's side of the bed but she wasn't there.

"Jas."I groaned sleepily

I looked around letting my eyes adjust in the darkness.

She wasn't in the bathroom or the living room or the kitchen.

Did she leave me?Did she realize that she couldn't forgive all the horrible things I've done?

"No no no."I panicked

I looked outside and saw her sitting on the beach.I sighed feeling relieved and went out with her.

"Baby."I said

She turned to me."Sorry..I couldn't sleep."

I could read her like a book.Something was bothering her and it was probably me.Again.

"What's wrong?"I sat beside her

"Nothing."She shook her head and looked to the moon

"Jasmine please talk to me."I said

"I dunno what to say Aub.I just- I haven't really worked through all of my trauma.What you said to me was just a..trigger.I know that it was so long ago and that's not who you are anymore but- I can't help but to feel like I'm still that little girl.I've just built this armor around her..this hard exterior.Like Im pretending that Im strong and confident..and I'm really not."She sniffled

I pulled her into my chest.

"You know that's not true.You are undoubtedly the strongest woman I know Jas.Nobody has all of their shit figured out.Including me obviously.Just the mention of my dad ruined our whole night..and I'm sorry.I-

"Don't apologize to me."She cut me off

"No.I should.I'm extremely lucky that you've allowed me to be this close to you after all of the terrible shit I've done to you and you still love me.You're still here.I don't deserve it but I appreciate it so much."I expressed

She slightly smiled up at me."..We're- This is so fucked."

"Yeah..it is."I nodded

"But..we can try counseling or..I probably need therapy anyway."I told her

"You'd do that for me?"She asked

"I'd do anything for you."I told her honestly

Her gaze dropped from my eyes to the ground.

"What is it?"I asked her

She shook her head.

I lifted her chin.Her eyes were full of tears.She was in pain.So am I.

"It's just..good to hear you say that."She sniffled

I pecked her lips.

"I love you."I told her

"I love you too Aub."She said lowly

"Can you come to bed?"I asked her

She nodded and we got up and dusted the sand off of us and went back inside.

I woke up again to the sun peaking through the windows.

Jas wasn't next to me but I heard music playing outside of the bedroom door.I groaned and got up to handle my business and then found her in the kitchen cooking.

"Good morning handsome."She smiled

She was glowing.She looked so happy.That's all I wanted.

"Good morning gorgeous.What's going on in here?"I asked her
